Well, I got my new glasses today and so far I hate them. I always have trouble adjusting to new stuff. I'm going to miss all the pretty flowers, but I'm glad the cooler weather is coming.

It just dawned on mine, mine mum's birthday was back in July. Except for al the yardwork mine done, mine does not recall what mine was doing then...shame on mine it seems.
But mine also gknow the day one dies is more important than their birthday. It has biblical basis, zo then Dec 28 would be the more relevant date to remember.
Still, mine plain forgot.
Anyone have any ideas in Discord? I wish we could grow it in an empty aquarium! :P
They are both important, but IMHO whenever one remembers a loved one that is good.

It's needed for that new achievement, the ones in shops got purchased up, eventually someone caught one & priced high & every user afterwards followed suit. Checked for fun & none of the users who are selling it have the pixel perfect Master achievement, but I don't believe that any of the fish rewards are from being in exactly the right spot anyway? Maybe one could be? I don't know; feeling crappy. ha.
Looking up some other fishing items that I know are also in the "so close" reward pool: one is unbuyable now (needed in shark bait) one is 8 mil (needed in shark bait) a couple are 3 mil (one is wearable) one ~1 mil. Multiple ~80k, but they are ugly fish. :squint:
(Also, I considered cleaning the following up & commenting on the News, but ultimately did not want to deal with users. ha. But it's related, so here you all go. :brainbrokey: ) The main issue with the game that users seem to have is that it's too simple & luck based, with no real strategy involved, & users do not realize it. You only get a few moves each game. You can try to be in the correct quadrant, but you might fail too. It's like the 'hot/cold' game for children, which I don't think that users are familiar with, because users were asking for guides? Other than what items are for which ending text, there's not really enough substance? Triangulation?
Users also appear to be worried about the pixel perfect thing. Being exactly correct only matters for one(1) Achievement, not for regular playing & getting fish. Yes, there are tiers of rewards based on how close you are, but it does not matter how exactly close one needs to be to fall into each tier, because you can't know that while playing; it's not how 'hot/cold' works. It's kind of how Minesweeper works, but that's a different game entirely (balloon game?). Either way? You win a fish item & return in an hour. It's a "do as often as you can" type of game.
As for the reward tiers / item pools, they likely depend on your proximity to the randomized winning single point on the grid, which could have to do with the squares (Ex: be in the correct square: "so close" surrounding squares "almost", then "nowhere near" Any other square? "how'd you get so far away?") but it could just as easily be about pixel distance: 25/50/100/+failure or whatever.
wow. All I get from that is it's random. Much less than minesweeper because that really is strategy. Even with balloon game I get an item ONCE in a while. I can be fishing "so close" then the last one is usually "nowhere near" or " how did you get so far away"
Wish there were some (other) way to get it. Maybe it will show up in the Antique shop someday. Thank you so much for sharing the info!
I did not realize that my notes were going to be posted on the Forums, or I would not have shared them. Here's something that hopefully better covers the concerns that people have with this game.
Example 1 - so close, yet so far.
You can play the game & get closer to the correct fishing coordinate while you choose spots, but still not be close enough at the end. The game is going to praise you for getting closer each time, because this is how hot/cold works. You can get hotter each try, but not make it close enough; please do not read too much into the words used. It's either hot or cold.
For simplicity's sake, if you start out in the box marked "1" & the box marked "X" includes the treasure?
You would be getting closer to X & the game will praise you when you do.
2 warmer
3 warmer
4 colder (closer on your last try, which might make you do 5 here &...)
5 so far away
While 3 could be praised as warm/"so close" when you select it, if you don't even make it past the middle of the map (for this example), you're not actually close enough to get a good prize on your final turn. (While I don't know how close one needs to be to get a good prize, I drew a box around X to help illustrate the zone that your final turn would need to be in to not be "so far away", as an example. It could be larger or smaller.)
You receive different rewards depending on how close you get to the target spot. Rewards that are rarer are going to go out less often & sometimes be more expensive. People inflate prices too, especially when items are suddenly required for Achievements.
Example 2 - Narrowing down the search area.
I really hope that this makes sense because it can help with actually coming up with a strategy. Because there is one, I just dislike trying to explain it. Some people will get this right away, but others will just find it confusing.
Ok! Have you ever played Higher/Lower? Because it's related to Hot/Cold too. It's a game where you try to find the correct number hidden between 0-100 in the fewest number of moves possible. To play this game, your first guess should be 50. You want to make big moves in order to learn the most information quickly. 50 is halfway between 0 & 100, so you get rid of half of the numbers immediately. You are told the number is Higher? Your 2nd guess is 75, because that's halfway between 50 & 100. You are told the number is Lower? Your 3rd guess is 62, because that's halfway between 75 & 50. & you continue splitting the numbers in half until you find the target number. However, we're stuck with only 5 moves for fishing game.
Now, why bring this up? The fishing game that you are playing is on a grid with coordinates (400x400). The first number is left/right. The second is up/down. You can use those numbers in the same way to try to narrow down the area that you want to search.
For my example, I'm going to pretend that this is a perfect game & each try is hotter. I've color coded each area with stripes to hopefully help show off what we learn each turn. You want to make large moves, like in Higher/Lower & cut the board in half each time. If you get "colder?" You have learned the opposite information.
To use the Higher/Lower game: if you choose 50 & learn that the number is Lower? Instead of choosing 75, you would split the numbers between 0 & 50, so you would guess 25. Except that this is hot/cold, so moving across the board is going to instantly be correct. You want to do up/down from the same left/right number. Ex: move is 250x200 Cold, then the next move is 250x150. You have to split the other number to get more accurate information for your next move.
Ok! Let's pretend to play. Start on the exact middle point of the grid (200x200: mark 1 / black)
Try moving halfway across the grid to the right (without going up/down; you edit the coordinates in the URL) to try to find where to go next. Hotter to the right? I'd stay on that side of the grid for my next move. (300x200 Area 2 / red)
The next move is down (without moving left or right). This gives you an area of the map that the treasure is hopefully more likely to be in. (300x300 Area 3 / green)
You repeat left/right & up/down by cutting the area you are in in half (Area 4 / yellow).
You try to narrow down a better choice for your final choice 5. This takes more time, but you can feel like you're doing something. Remember! If you get colder during any turn? You learned the opposite information.
