This was tricky, but I wanted to make something a new user could feel pretty in. Outfit Not Found

All items are common or normal and can usually be found in NPC shops even cheaper.

New User Outfits: Contest!by Anne
Price at time of creation: 143.507 sP (No Main Shop prices, user only)
Edit: I hope fins count for shoes? Please don't make her sign a contract with the Seawitch. She's happily underwater. :<
What a great contest, so many amazing entries. I'll try to make mine later.
-edit- Phew! this was harder than I thought but I finally came up with this. HA inspired on punk aesthethic (my first idea was "music").
Total cost: 129348 sP (at the moment I made this). Hairstyle: Mohawk (a default hairstyle from hair salon). Nose and eyes are default (just added the mascara).
I have a couple questions:

Are we allowed to use items outside of R1-99? Retired items, holiday items, etc.

Is there any need to use the wardrobe-provided hair or facial features?

Any maximum number of items, or just a price limit?
The whole outfit needs to be under 150,000sP is the only limit. If you're using a non-default hairstyle (something redeemed) you need to add that cost to the total. Same with holiday items, retired items, etc.
No limit on total number of items, just keeping it under the total cost limit.
Hey Keith, I'm just a little confused. I own a couple of these sets--both the AFAB and AMAB Flowersets lend themselves to my style--and they don't come with makeup or hair, just a top, a bottom, shoes and maybe one other item.
Therefore, I'm not sure why your our hair, facial features and makeup have to be included in the cost, because they wouldn't be part of the set.
After all, I don't imagine you'll be changing the number of items included--or will you?
Just wondering. I'll follow the rules, of course, but I was curious as to why it matters what we do to the base avatar the set is on.
(hahaha this will be an excuse to be really creative for me.)
Also...when we are counting the cost of event items used in an avatar, how are we doing this?
The SP market prices for some items that can be bought with event currency in non-closing shops are massively overinflated, in some cases, to the cost of buying the necessary currency in the proper amount. I'm thinking specifically of Masquerade, Vesnali and Louis L'Amour items.
(I would assume the cost for Zombie Den items and Medicontra items would be whichever's lowest, user shop price or "wholesale" price, so I'm not worried about that.)
When I sell items that are in currency shops that never close (and the currency is buyable--referral and loyalty points aren't, but candy hearts, Vesnali coins and trinkets are--I will typically sell them for slightly less than the trinket cost because otherwise they sit in your shop as people realise that the item may be 300000 SP in a usershop but it's 30 Steamworks Trinkets which means that if trinkets are under 10000 (and they usually are) it's cheaper to buy the trinkets.
But other people do charge whatever for these items even if it means they will sit in their shops forever.
So let me know if this affects the cost. I am very likely to use Steamworks items in my submissions, but I need to know which price is going to be used when checking my budget.
Thanks so much, and I'm not trying to game this, after all if I can use event items at shop prices so can everyone else--I just want to make some sets that will suit people who are more fantasy-oriented like me.

Very fun initiative! I tried to make a gender neutral monster hunter avatar, for the macabre newbies like I was one day.

Went with a bee lover / farmers market outfit. :) All shop items except the background but it's super cheap.
I believe my total came to 145,027 at current shop search values. Cheaper if bought from the stores.

i cant tell if it looks better without , if i get picked and you guys think its more affordable, simple, appealing and accessible without the retired item because it appears there's only 15ish left on the shops (hopefully it doesnt count as two submissions if so, ignore the spoiler}
