One of the first items on my todo list right now is rewriting our registration flow, and bring it into the same backend system as our authentication / login. It turns out, that's the easy part! Making sure that it opens up into a good experience for the rest of the site is much harder. One of those first experiences is choosing your initial wardrobe outfit from a selection created by our artists.

Right now, when you go to the wardrobe for the first time you're greeted by this page 🥺. Even if these completed outfits weren't a broken image, they feel a little lackluster compared to what you can build in the wardrobe system today. That's where you come in!

Contest Rules

• Entry must be submitted to this thread by using the [outfit=] tag. Create the outfit in the wardrobe, save and post here using the code.
• One outfit entry per user
• Must have a top, bottom and shoes, please make sure the avatar is covered :P
• Should not cost more than 150,000sP total in user shops, meaning no custom wearables and only items that are available for purchase
• Contest ends on 5/31, so get those entries in soon

Otherwise, go wild with accessories and creativity! Remember that a theme of some kind will make it more likely to be a winner, something to stand out from the other entries but be appealing to new users seeing the wardrobe for the first time.

Contest Prizes

• Every entry gets a participation prize (Fashion Star Sticker), as long as they meet the requirements above (please submit real entries only, we have to go through and judge them 🙏)
• We will choose up to 20 outfits (and potentially have them rotate on the page in some way), each winner will get 2,500CSC

The whole outfit needs to be under 150,000sP is the only limit. If you're using a non-default hairstyle (something redeemed) you need to add that cost to the total. Same with holiday items, retired items, etc.

No limit on total number of items, just keeping it under the total cost limit.

Question: What are the default hair styles, for folks who've claimed other hairstyles in the salon?

Question: "One more question, when you say "Should not cost more than 150,000sP total in user shops, meaning no custom wearables and only items that are available for purchase" does that include some event items (for example: items from esther's shop, or other event shops?) as long as they fit in the budget at the time of creation? Or only restockable from main shops."

Just the price matters! I'd avoid items where there are only 1-2 in main shops, but otherwise go wild. Having some previous event items in there will be nice for us to be able to rotate through, as well.

If we notice any red flags or items that we absolutely don't want to be redistributed, we'll shoot the creator a message over sMail and ask them to swap out that item.

Hello everyone - the contest submission time has ended!

Thanks so much for the amazing participation! There are some really awesome submissions here, and it's going to be fun going through them all.

We're giving out the prizes here this week, sorry for the delay. A few things happened:

1. I got ambitious, and tried to implement outfits + a voting mechanism on kumos so that I wouldn't have to go through 30 pages 🙃 That did not pan out
2. I moved away from registration in an effort to make the rest of kumos.subeta.net feel more cohesive before moving registration there. That made the need for registration outfits a little less priority, so I've had this tab open but haven't needed to jump over.

TLDR: Prizes incoming this week, sorry for the delay, and the next time I do an outfit contest like this there will be a more automated process ;)

Not yet, but I've got all of the outfits saved! If I can't get anything done with them in the next week or two, I'll drop them here (but I'd prefer them to get a page or something in recognition!)

Like I said a few posts/pages/years ago, I got too ambitious and planned to make a whole feature around allowing me (and others) to host HA contests with prizes, I'm still a lil hopeful I can smash these winners into that unfinished system ;p
