what I'm reading right now is called Creation Lake, it's about a woman who's spying on anarchists she suspects of planning to bomb a dam or reservoir I think, she's reading their email and driving while drinking wine and musing about her preferences in men, the grad school life she left behind, and human evolution.
I just read a synopsis on Creation Lake and it looks good! Will add to my reading list.
You should definitely look into the Crave series! I loved it so much! There's a spinoff for it that I plan on reading too at some point. It's a fantasy series with vampires, dragons, witches, werewolves and gargoyles 😍
Noooo they were out because of the hurricane. Jesse ended up being out of school for 8 school days because of all the damage. It took ages to clear the roads from all the fallen trees and for people to get power back. It will probably take months for all the fallen trees to be taken care of. Most of them have been just moved off the roads for now.
I hope you guys didn't get hit too hard D: The damage here was so bad, I feel like a lot of the News didn't even mention the damage that was done in SC. We've never seen anything like it here in the upstate. Usually we are far enough off the coast that we just get rain and some wind.
Dang that's terrible! I'm sorry you had to go through that. I actually did hear about SC on the news but I wasn't sure where you are at. I bet it was scary as it came through!!💖💖💖
- 😂 The funny thing is that I am devious but I can hardly pull off any of the things I've tried. 9 times out of 10 I end up breaking down laughing before I'm even half way through it. My kids know this and just wait for me to start laughing. But, when I actually do pull it off, it's spectacular. I actually had my oldest son believeing that I found him a mail-order bride because I wanted grandkids. (NO, I don't condone mail-order brides of any form.It was just a convenient foil for the drivel he was spouting about never being able to find anyone because he's over the hill at the tender age of 30. rolls eyes ):D
- Sounds like your book is full of navel-gazing. I can't get through my current book because of that so I'll take a pass on this one. I think I'm going to treat myself to Bernard Cornwell's newest Richard Sharp novel. I need something to motivate me to finish this darned book. :/
- So, the series is named "Crave," can you tell me the author because I love fantasy stories with a great array of monsters. It sounds like it would be fun. :D
That's a good one!! 👏🏼 And to me it doesn't seem devious but more like a good teasing. And I usually can't keep a straight face either. 🤪
- Thank you! ;) I am currently trying to get my youngest but I've yet to succeed. He's so straight--laced and serious and his sense of humor is drier then the Sahara. I need a good idea. I'm going to look on Redit. 😂
🤣🤣🤣 Good luck! And if I find any good ones I'll be sure to share with you.
the synopsis did seem like a book you'd like, and one wouldn't like, so I'm kind of pleased you both came to those conclusions without my saying so
Hah 😆
We were actually asleep for most of it 😂 When we woke up we were like "Oh shit..." I did get a flood warning alert in the middle of the night and that definitely made me a bit anxious lol. We honestly didn't think it was coming towards us though 💀 Oh well! We were very lucky and didn't have any tress fall on the house.
Yes! It's by Tracy Wolff! It's so good! 😍 Have you read any good books lately?
- Please do. So far Redit has done nothing but annoy me so I'm passing this off to my hubby, who loves the site. I'll let you know if we find anything. 😂
- Ha! You've got me pegged. roflmao! :P
- Thank you, I'll go look her up on Audible now. :) HNo, the book I'm reading is really slow and is mired in a bunch of navel-gazing. It's the latest Jennifer Armentrout book, "Born of Blood and Ash" and it's going so slowly I'm actually thinking of putting it up and finishing it later. XD
Oh man sneaky sneaky. My son wasn't to bad this weekend
Love your ha!! This weekend went so smooth it was wild
- That's wonderful. Then I won't tell you about the 6 months of hooky my youngest played while I was in the hospital for my stroke. This was almost 10 years ago and my youngest was homeschooled. I told my hubby how to homeschool him while I was gone but it went in one ear and out the other. So, when I got home from the hospital I asked my hubby how it went. He said, "Great." So, I asked my precious son how far he got in the course material. Silence. That's when it dawned on me that my hubby had not done the lessons ith him and my son had never asked for the lessons. I asked my son what happened and he said matter of factly, "I didn't ask for the lessons." I asked what he did everyday that his Dad thought he'd done schoolwork... "Play video games." Oh, there was hell to pay. Now, I look back and laugh at the little booger's daring. 😂 😂 😂
if I read one I like, that I think you'll like too, I will be sure to recommend it!
- Same here. It seems that I'm stuck in the same kinds of books lately and I think I need to break free from the rut I'm in. :D
That's too funny you had that figured out!!👏🏻🤣
That's good you missed the seeing the destruction happening. When I was in Atlanta I saw plenty of destruction happening and it's not fun!
Will keep looking on Reddit. It's maybe my favorite site these days so probably spend too much time there. Lol
Thank you! It was fun. And I'm glad your busy weekend went well! Your HA is very cute!!
- I like Redit. It's navigation doesn't like me. There's so much text thrown at you it's hard for me to keep up with scrolling. I wish it wouldn't auto-refresh so much. If it didn't then I could probably sort through the stuff there. I'm going to have to see if my screen reader has a way to turn the auto-refresh off. XD
That does make sense! Maybe ignore the feed and just visit your favorite subs that are listed on the left? Not sure that will help though.
- Only problem there is that I'll be lost in the subs trying to find relavant posts. It's easier if I can find a way to tame the feed where all the current posts show up. ;)
