How you got a GA if you're subscriptionless? Did someone gift you buddy GAs? LOL Or you buy a GA? I used to buy GAs. I don't like NOT having a GA, that was one reason I got the subscription in the first place, so I'd always have a GA. I like having autopricer and the 15 quests per NPC. My subscription expired yesterday since I cancelled it (had to replace my debit card, so cancelled that one and will put the new one on when I get it)...and I have a bit over a week of regular GA time left from my last GA.

715pm yawn I am so tired. I just finished my 2hr training course for my class. Go me. Too bad I can't turn it in for credit for my actual job hahaha since I've got a certificate to show I did training. Wrong age group. I missed one question on the final assessment but felt I had a correct answer. The question was about LANGUAGE, and the last correct answer was about emotions. Eh. Whatever. I passed and I felt my answer was correct enough anyway.

Now it's just the two replies to the discussion post in the other class, due by the 8th. I also gave my paper (well dropped it in her box) to the vice-principal today to finish filling out for the spring field placement (practicum class 487). I didn't get a chance to tell the principal I did that, but the paper says "Vice Principal or Program Director" on it hahah so thats why I dropped it in her box. I did put a sticky note on it stating I needed it filled out for a college class. The principal knows I am doing classes. My teacher knows I am. But the vice-principal is new this year sigh And of COURSE she wasn't there today. Oh well. I have to have it back before Sept 15 so I've a bit of time to talk to her next week if not tomorrow.

Hey well, whatever works for you!! :) I hope you get all the debts paid off fairly quickly and can get back to a little splurging for fun soon.

OMG I am SO TGIF right now. Today was crazy insane. We even had duty free lunch and it was still a wild day. Guess since they were so settled for Grandparents day the past two days (really! It was an amazingly calm grandparents day!) they just had to be wild today. One kid kept on and on and getting in trouble doing things he knew he isn't supposed to and then crying when I made him pick a new center (pushed over someone elses building blocks, TWICE, you gotta go... pushed and shoved someone to get to the tablet? you don't get one. Dumped all the sensory rings into the chalk/paint trays? No more sensory table for you... I mean, come on kid!!) Others were arguing, telling others they couldn't play, etc normal stuff that happens but today was just MORE of it. (yelling, talking out of turn, getting out of line, some even hit each other - one kid hit his twin brother in the butt) yep all normal 4yr old stuff, just MORE MORE MORE of it than normal today)

So we have clap-out every Friday, and one of my girls fell, the principal picked her up and tried to get her to run again, and then finally handed her off to me because she wouldn't go....it wasn't until after recess I noticed a bruise on her forehead, apparently she hit her head when she fell at clapout! ARGH (Something I MAY have noticed had I gotten her up instead of the principal but eh, it is ok, she wasn't upset over it, but I didn't know about the bruise!!) AND then another kid had scratches all over his face after recess, REFUSED to tell me or the other teacher what happened, turned away from us, like he was trying to hide the side of his face from us....I almost had to drag him to the nurse, he refused to tell HER what happened to him too - I'm like freaking out because how do you tell this mom (who is VERY particular about how we interact with her kid already!) that we have no idea how your child got hurt because he wont TALK TO US!!! - Anyway he FINALLY looked down at the ground and muttered "doing a back flip on the swing. I fell off" so I was like, oh so the wood chips scratched you? "yeah" THANK YOU FOR TELLING ME!! Phew. I praised and praised him for finally telling us what happened, because I really wanted him to know it was ok to tell us how he gets hurt. SHEEEEEESH And THEN!! YES! SOMETHING ELSE. At the END of the day, the custodian who cleans our room came in and was like "oh did Ms so & so tell you what happened at lunch?" we're like, uhhh no? Apparently one of our boys (he wasn't sure which one) FELL off the bench and hit the floor hard. Wasn't crying but they saw him fall and heard the thud when he hit. Poor kid. NONE OF OUR KIDS TOLD US ANYTHING and we didn't see any marks. I have no idea why the adult in charge of them during the duty free lunch didn't tell us someone FELL!! What if this kids mom/dad complains? We had NO CLUE until the custodian mentioned it to us! AT THE END OF THE DAY!

[edit] Sunday 945am Ice Maker fixed! Its making ice! Yay. Not that I use a LOT of ice, but its nice to have it fixed. I also went shopping today and stocked up, so my freezer now has 2-3 weeks worth of dinner meats and I have canned veg, rice and instant potatoes to go with them. I also splurged and got some cute halloween sugar cookies (so expensive, I can make them cheaper but eh), and two halloween candles. The jars will be cute decorations later! I did give in and buy Nathan sodas - but I got him Dr. Thunder (generic) instead of Dr. Pepper :P AND I DID NOT BUY MONSTERS. He was drinking all my tea LOL

Oh and I made my two responses this morning, and saw an email from a classmate. I couldn't tell if she only emailed me, or if maybe she emailed everyone, because it only showed MY name - but if it was only me, how funny she chose me to ask. But anyway it was about the toy presentation powerpoint, so I told her how I did it. She was trying to figure out if she had to have 6 of each TYPE of toy (like, 6 girl toys, or 6 inside toys) It was a bit confusing because the instructions in the syllabus say six (10) toys....and the instructions online say 10 toys, no where did it say how I interpreted what the teacher said "10 toys, each one labeled as "girl, boy, inside, outside (etc), one toy per slide, answer the questions per toy" So I told her how I did it and said I hoped it helped her.

Let me just start by saying.. I can't believe they want you to label 'girl' and 'boy' toys, especially for a preschool setting. ALL little kids are interested in cars, trains, babies, and kitchens.

Anyway. Glad you got your ice maker fixed! Yesterday was a good day here, Alex, Lily and i went to church, then we dropped her off at work and went grocery shopping and stopped for lunch.. went home, dropped off the groceries, picked up Iz and went to the pumpkin patch for like.. 45 minutes :P Just long enough to get a slushie, see dinosaurs, feed the koi and catfish, and get another slushie :P Went and picked Lily back up from work, came home and I made baked ziti and garlic bread for dinner, then we lit a fire and sat outside for a while.

It was gorgeous out!

Hahah yea, on my presentation I put "this is a girl toy because our society says that girls are more likely to play with Barbies" type of comments. (the girl toy was Barbie Mermaids, the boy toy was a car carrier big truck with little cars/trucks - I had a 2nd girl toy that was a baby doll)

I have to read my chapter. Ugh. See ya'll later MAYBE.

Yeah, see.. maybe this is why I wouldn't do well at school :P IDK that I could let that stand haha.

The girls used to play dollhouse with power rangers and star wars guys, they'd use the doll house as a home base to kick ass :P

LOL that sounds great (the dollhouse as the home base) yea we let whoever play with whatever they want. and if a kid says "that's for boys" or "that's for girls" - no, anyone can play with it. anyone can like that color. etc. I have no idea why she had those as categories to be honest. I guess just to make sure we had a variety of toys, also partly because they ARE marketed that way...and we were "shopping" - I guess anyway.

Class JUST got over. I'm so exhuasted. I woke up at 4am today for some stupid reason and didn't really fall back asleep. Have a cough, I think from weather change (its been in the 60s at night here lately and not hitting 90 anymore) But I've had a tickle in my throat since Friday and today was coughing a lot. I am going to bed soon I think. She didn't talk about the final project so I brought it up, and she set up so she could show us some examples next week. We ALL did our toy shopping presentation LIVE during class. WHOOOO fun. NOT. I was a bit surprised by some of the choices and was like "REALLY?" on some things - because its a Birth - Kinder class .... and these people were picking toys for 8+ and one picked a 14+ nerf gun to share as a toy .... WHAT WERE YOU THINKING? Yes, the teacher called everyone out on that after the 2nd or 3rd toy like that "Guys, (I'm not talking to just you - to the person presenting now-) I should have made it clear, but this is a birth-kinder class so all your toys should be for this age group. I'll make that clearer for my next class." I mean, DUH? I knew it, why didn't the others? I guess they just weren't thinking about the age of the class, only the age on the box of the toy.

Next week we have to bring music to share - a song we can get from online, And be able to share why we picked it, how educational it is, what domain it is for, etc. Fun.

Laurie Berkner. That's what I recommend for your song :P Go listen to her stuff, there's some really fun songs.

Also.. yeah that's crazy :P

And the home base.. one of the times I remember very vividly is they were playing Chopped (like, the cooking show?) but when you got chopped.. you actually.. got chopped in half?! And I was like "... WHAT are you guys doing?!"

Hope you feel better! :(

Ooh yea, Laurie Berkner is a good one. I was thinking about using KooKooKangaroo - Dinosaur Stomp :P It uses whole body, cross-the-mid-line motions, and is fun. ALL my kids have enjoyed it. Plus any kids who like dinosaurs get to hear the names of them too :P AND act like a dinosaur lol

Just realized I could have spent some of last week researching my two curriculums. Oops. Forgot all about it - it'll be fine. I just browsed and found one good site for the Montessori, and then two pages that I think will be good for the other - which she has listed as "Creative for Infants, Toddlers and Twos" - IF that is the correct curriculum to look at because it pulls up as "The Creative Curriculum for Infants, Toddlers and Twos" - slight difference. I emailed the teacher to verify it was the correct info to read and research from.

I reaaaaaally don't want to do any school work - but I should probably at least go see what the discussion question is for the other class today - so I can prep for that response and replies to classmates. Can't get to the 2nd class's new discussion post yet, as it won't open til tomorrow. I probably also need to add to my weekly journal - I didn't realize she'd given us a pre-made form to use for it - but I still don't really know how many observations she wants per week. I can get PLENTY of them, but should add a few new ones, as I didn't at all last week as I had a bunch.

-Edit - Oof what kind of question is this? Can educators connect negative or positive behaviors to how children are inactive to music songs? Why? (That is our discussion question for Learning Through Play) Connect behaviors to how children are INACTIVE to music? I'll have to think about that one.

Well, i'm guessing like.. some kids dont' like to sing or do the movements or whatever, so they just sit or stand there?

I wouldn't want to do schoolwork either :P

Actually.;. I don't want to do ANYTHING. Worked at the school thi smorning, the church this afternoon, and I have a civics league meeting in an hour. cry

Yeah, some kids may not want to dance or sing and just sit or stand there, but it's not usually connected to their behavior that I could ever tell? Unless they are already tired/grumpy or not feeling good. And the being tired/not feeling good is the reason for the behavior NOT being inactive to songs. I'll have to think about how it could apply to YOUNGER kids as well - like maybe could be an indicator of abuse or special needs like autism or something perhaps? That an infant/toddler for example, isn't responding to music/songs.... Also perhaps reading one of the next chapters will help - we're supposed to read the next three chapters. Not sure what they are about yet.

I didn't do anything else after researching those sites. I didn't even take notes. I went out to see why the dog was barking, picked up a THIRD limb from the pecan tree (good size limbs too!!) plus all the small twigs it dropped (pecan tree is more annoying than the oak tree this year!), talked to my neighbor, and then came inside and read on my tablet.

Oh wait, I DID print off the play observation checklist, so I can take it to school and try to check it off today or tomorrow for one of my kids - got some interesting things to see if I observe or not. (but I did it before quitting on schoolwork for the day) Quickly engages in play or Requires help to get started playing Needs encouragement to play Directs their own play Shows curiosity or initiative Is unable to stay with task after beginning to play stuff like that and others as well.

I did NOT sleep well. My computer decided to do updates at midnight and the light woke me up. Then I kept coughing again, so I slept sitting up for a while....I did NOT want to get up, my alarm went off, I was awake but laying there going UGH let me sleep! Going to be exhausted for class tonight :(

Boooo on not sleeping well. :(

I was super exhausted today too, I like.. downed an entire bottle of pepsi. We had to go in an hour early today to help because our people were out, so there was only 3 of us :P

Then LIly sang the national anthem at the field hockey game. They did a moment of silence first, it was really nice!

Bottle? What size bottle ;) lol I drink a 20oz bottle of tea every day. Homemade tea, fill up my water bottle with tea. Drink it at lunch, and whatever I don't finish at lunch I drink through the afternoon. Its usually my only caffiene.

Class over for tonight YAY I like when it ends earlier. This infant/toddler class is quite easy honestly tho, other than adapting the thinking to infant/toddlers instead of 4yr olds LOL I filled out that form I printed today, took it to school and observed one of my kids while center time was happening. Left it at school LOL Good thing it isn't due til Sunday. I'll bring it home tomorrow.

Did Lily have a solo, or sing with the group? I remember Katie doing the anthem lots of times at football games with the chorus group (it was whoever wanted to show up and sing it). One game every year they invite the kids from my school to sing with them - they call it Future Jag Night (the high school is the Jaguars -Jags for short) - the chorus teens sing with the little kids, and there are little kids in with the cheerleaders too. (They have a "training camp" for like 3 days before the football night, so the little kids can learn some basic cheers)

edit: I responded to the music question. I don't know but I don't feel like I answered it correctly and reading the 3 responses that were already there, I also don't feel like they responded correctly either - they're talking about positive benefits of music, which there ARE positive and negative benefits to music, but the question says how behaviors are connected when children are "inactive" to music. I'm also wondering if the teacher mistyped the question or meant something different. Eh. It is what it is. The discussion and responses are worth only 2 points so even if I screw this one up, I'll be fine. I looked and none of the upcoming chapters really mention anything about music's effect on behaviors (it does mention music and how important it is) :P

A 20 oz LOL. A 12 pack of them is only $5.68. at walmart. People buy them in the teachers lounge for $2 each?! Or stop at the DG and pick them up for $2?! Crazy.

Anyway. :P

She sang solo! There's a video of it on my fb if you want to see, the athletic trainer took one (thank goodness, because mine was just.. wind sounds!).

I mean, I think even if you all got the wrong answers, you're still discussing? So I'd say, personally, it should count!

I had a dream last night that a class of kids turned themselves into like, half dragons? And they were really annoyed that they couldn't turn back before lunch and they came down and they kept trying to grab milk but they just.. clawed through it and there was milk everywhere and I was like sitting in a flood of milk thinking about how awful it was going to be to clean up and they were like, trying to get milk containers off their claws and everyone was just miserable LOL

Oh my goodness what a messy dream!!

Yeah, I think as long as we discuss, it should be ok. But I guess we will see what the teacher comments later. Plus I already have 2 bonus points for turning in the poem so I'm all good anyway LOL

YAY Lily!! Beautiful job.

Oh I can't stand buying drinks or snacks at the vending machines. I do sometimes, when I have absolutely nothing and need something but I hate it. Our vending machine gives 2x the canned lemonade drink and I don't like soda, so i usually get that if I'm getting a drink there, so at least I get double the drink for my dollar (dollar and a half now? Not sure, haven't bought in a while)! LOL

edit 440 UGH UGH UGH I forgot how horrible these lesson plans they insist on using are. SO DETAILED and I don't know how to choose half the details correctly yet!! I have done all of ONE lesson plan in spring semester that I remember. Maybe two. I think one was edited out, like the infant class teacher did for us, for the lesson plan we will have to do for her later. UGH! At least I have 10 days, and the teacher will hopefully go over the lesson plan next Monday in class (I HOPE I HOPE!!) But I was trying to get started on my game, I have to do specific type of game for the age level I choose, and I always try to go with something I could do with my 4yr olds to make it easier on myself if I end up needing to do them during practicum or anything.

I did respond to one of the posters in the music discussion - no new ones yet tho. So hopefully someone else will post before Sunday night that I feel able to respond to decently. And I did scan in and upload my Play Observation (the thing I left at school yesterday, brought it home today lol)

Ugh for super detailed lesson plans. Annoying!

Yeah, it was a messy dream for sure :P

Worked yesterday.. ran errands, came home, ate dinner quick with Alex, picked LIly up from marching band, went to work at the church, was in charge of youth group (WHILE I was working.. at least I got paid :P), came home and Lily and I took the trash out and I died :P

Today we're all going for ice cream after work though, so that'll be fun, I'm looking forward to that. And no football tonight, it's an away game. :P

EDIT: I forgot to post what I was excited about! LOL. At youth group they normally do highs and lows (which I hate, because htey mostly do their lows and it's just depressing and they talk about how like, there's nothing good oging on in their lives?) and this week and last time I did it I asked them to talk about something they were proud of this week and the answers were SO GOOD in most cases, and like.. maybe I'm starting to like teenagers? :P

I think something you're proud of is a good prompt because it can be anything.. including just getting out of bed, some days!

Ugh the internet AND my phone was down for quite a while, that's annoying. :/ Listening to the game now though, 28-7 us. Sucks for them though, it's their homecoming.

Tomorrow we're doing NOTHING. We are staying home, we're wearing pajamas.. that's what's happening tomorrow.

Sunday we're going to church, then the pumpkin patch!

Hi y'all! I keep meaning to pop by! I just got the healer I was after thanks to questing for a little bit in a row! Reviver of the Lion! Now I can start to think about the next level of opponents in Battle Quests (maybe after a little more training!)

Something I just thought about when not wanting to participate in music would be someone who is unable to hear well or is deaf! Unless they would be in their own classroom. I know if I couldn't understand what's going on I would be less likely to want to participate.

I hope y'all are doing well! I understand the pull of classes because I just started August 20th (which is why I didn't pop by because I was trying to get adjusted) This MIGHT be my last year! Booo to having 8:30 in the morning classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays though. :(

Keep it up, Kat! :D I know you must be happy to be back with the kids. The classes..maybe? But I know you know as well as I do that the learning leads to a degree/certification!

Ooh a day of doing nothing sounds fun Mieke! I think I MIGHT have a pajama day tomorrow, myself!
