Haven't had a fire in the fire pit for a long time.We had a fire ban in place for most of the summer here because it was so dry.Love the smell of a fireplace fire.

Having another fire in my awesome fire pit

Only Just started listening to some jazzy Christmas cafe music to get me in the mood to write a letter. I've got a sister from anotha mother over in Uganda and her little sister and mom that we were sending a package to. (she's got another sister going to college here in the states) I can only hope the package gets there before Christmas, but unlikely.. ^_^" Probably should have sent it in September..
:3 I have been in the mood to make cookies lately.. I should just do it.. They might not make it into the oven though... ^_^' yum..
I had a good Veteran's day with my dad! ( forgot to post about this :3 ) We took some stuff to the Blue Star Mothers and had a fun chat with one of the ladies there. He's former Marine and Army and she's a Marine Mom. Many a joke was had.. ^_^" After, went to a cafe and had some yummy snacks (well, for me a very late breakfast of fruit crepes.. yum). Then spent a few hours cutting and cooking down the pumpkins we had saved. >:3 There are plans for many a desert in the holiday future.. mwaha!
And a Whoohoo! :D A couple days ago we Finally got our trees cut and taken care of (from the derecho this summer). And a nice pile of wood for this Winter too! yay! <3
(..am only now realizing how long I went on....)
Question! (For anyone who reads and wants to answer): What's your top three favorite cookies (or treat) during the holidays? (I say top three because I find it hard to pick just One.)
That blubbo is adorable :3 Where did you get it if I may ask?
Love and prayers to you both <3
:3 Love the smell of a good fire going
The Hustler let that go for 20k, again. The outfit mine tried to make didn't work out, zo it may end up in mine shop.

My guess Dirty Harry with Clint Eastwood. Thanks seems it took awhile to get the last item for each achievement.
good guess but I am sorry but it is wrong the answer is Armageddon... At the beginning when the people from Japan show up on the rig and tell Bruce Willis that

Mine have one last job for mine car, an alignment of the suspension. Lately it's been jolting side to side at highway speeds. Mine gknow a previous alignment hadn't been fully successful, and mine risk another difficult trip in a few days. There mine will insist on making the adjustments necessary to make the car a more enjoyable ride. Finals are in a few weeks, an if not done then, mine may not be able to try again until either nest fall. Or if after mine can remedy the engine problem, hopefully take it where it can be done.
Mine favorite treat are Terry's Chocolate Oranges, then non mint candy canes, and slop from a turkey dinner slathered on a roll.
Mine favorite part of that movie is seeing The Freedom get shot down, by a bunch of rocks. (That Rockhound comments, "Never seen this stuff before.")
<3 <3 <3
First off, your avi is Lovely! ^_^ Second, wow! So may yummy sounding treats!
I've never made cranberry orange bread, but I like getting muffins of that flavor thrue the holidays. :) I like shortbreads, but one of my favorites (year round honestly) are lemon sugar cookies. Get that fresh lemon zest in there and mmm! Though I must say a good shortbread is a must with some good tea. <3
I don't think I've had lace cookies in years.. Since my grandma used to make it when I was little. It might be interesting to try again. :3
My cousin is the only person who's managed to make a fruitcake I actually like (was it the liquor she put in? who knows..) But my dad is hoping to make some this year too and my mom loves to buy some from a company down in Texas (forgot the name..). le sigh so much fruitcake in my future...
The dango sounds like so much fun! ^_^ My sisters and I have made dango before, but not that kind. (I don't actually remember what it was called as I was mostly helping my sis make) But they were delicious!
Hmm... perhaps it would be fun to make treats from around the world to have for the holidays.. :3
Mmm! A spicy chocolate cake sounds delightful and fun! <3
(though I must say, I love the flavor of spice but am not good at handling a lot of the heat.. :') a conundrum.. but worth it I think with a glass of milk..)
^^' My grandmother was a big baker in our family. She was always baking bread rolls to give away to people or cinnamon rolls (huge giant things). For the holidays she would start a couple weeks before each holiday baking. She had a cool area to keep the treats. And ooh! when I was a kid and the kid's table was practically set right next to the treats table...! I mean.. who's to say how many cookies there Really were....? ;) (though my sister always went for the rum balls... myself? not a fan.. ....I think we still have her bottle of rum around somewhere though.... ^^' )
Gotta have some short bread that's my fav....Not sure if i'll have a turkey this yr as it's rather pricey so i may just go with a couple of cornish hens this yr.
Tea with cookies is the best :) Someone just offered me a goose yesterday and i said yes.I haven't had one in yrs...
I'll be honest, usually the difference between "ugh fruitcake" and "yum fruitcake" is the alcohol choice, and how long the cake has been left to "mature" (soak in alcohol). But the fruit choice can make a big difference, too! Like, buying already candied fruit versus soaking and candying fruit yourself, the pre-candied stuff will lose almost every time in a contest of taste. My beau mentioned last year that he'd never had a fruitcake before, though, so I sort of made it my mission to track down some decent recipes so I can change that fact eventually. (Plus, the soused cakes keep well for shipping, making them ideal to mail to family as gifts if I ever feel ambitious enough to do that. Also, I just think it would be hilarious to mail out fruitcake to our families.)
I love dango! They're so tasty, and I think they have just the perfect texture to them. Funny you should mention maybe doing treats from around the world, because that was part of the inspiration for my wanting to try to make them! We don't live near our families now, so we're trying to make some holiday traditions all our own, so why not try making some treats from a different nation? At worst, it will be a fun learning experience!
If it helps any, I don't handle spice very well either. c': So my cakes never have TOO much heat to them. Just enough for a little kick, but not so much that it overwhelms the other flavors. (Though my beau LOVES spicy things, so if ever I screw up the delicate balance, I know he'll still be willing to eat it.)
I know from my mom that her mom was also a big baker, and her mom's mom before her. She still has a box of old recipe cards that have been passed down through the family, some of which are more esoteric than others (just the name of the recipe and a list of ingredients, fifty-fifty as to whether there will be any amounts listed; I clearly got my recipe writing skills from them, though I never met my grandmother, go figure, haha). If I had been at the table near the treats at family holidays, there definitely would have been some missing, too! As it is, even now, if I'm left on my own near the dessert table, treats will still go missing. Who am I to deny the siren call of tasty cookies?

Hi all!
Mine brother offered to buy mine tickets to see Tool in February. At $500 a pop he is showing a big dose of generosity. Tho he says if he can't join mine may invite someone to tag along.
No more excuses, mine iz going to have to ask and insist for an alignment job on mine car this Friday evening. Finals are in three weeks, an mine may not be able to use the college facility nest becha. Mine want to correct the shoddy job from when the inner tie rod ends were replaced.
