I haven't been around for most of those years, but I've loved the ones I was here for!
I decided to wear my cookies and eat them too, so I made sure to get 2 of each. They were delicious and are very pretty!
I think I'd use the gold border(s) on my leashed pet, unless I change who it is and then I'd use a different border (it's been my Day Zentu for a while, but once the bug is fixed where she appears as a Night Zentu in the evenings I will probably leash a different pet)
I had no idea it was 19 already. Incredible. :D
My favorite border is the tempest one, which I don't have. One day, one day. I miss the birthday goodie bags, they were fun to open. But I like how the new items are in various places which are achievable.
Happy birthday subeta! This birthday suit is so sharp. People have definitely asked for avatar borders to be used on leashed pets before, and I agree with it.
I started to become very unhappy with neopets and that's when I joined subeta. For almost 10 years I haven't played neopets. But I have to admit that I recently started again (it's like a bad addiction that reared its ugly head) but wow. Subeta really doesn't compare and this made me remember and appreciate how subeta has improved itself from being a "clone" to becoming unique and the superior pet site.
Here are my top 10 reasons subeta is still better than neopets (and honestly the list could go on)
praising of subeta's superior features
1. when you search for items to buy on subeta, you freaking find them. For the lowest price too. Not this refreshing and refreshing guessing game like on neo. And the shop search only goes up to 999,999 on neo. After that you need to look at the trading post. Oh did you find the item you were looking for at 10 mil? Too bad, you can only offer a max of 2 mil points. You'll have to make up the rest of the value with items. Again none of this (frankly) BS on subeta.

items can be reasonably sourced on subeta and researched on subetalodge. Even when I search on neopets fansites there's no explanation as to where some items even come from. (paint brushes... I hate you)

on neopets the inflation is sky high and there's no steady source of income. this makes attaining goals impossible or take years. With subeta's quests, you can count on reliably saving up.

neopet's premium currency and services. That is all. It just feels like 99% of wearables are behind a premium currency paywall and there's little to no way to save up for anything in that regard. Oh and premium users inherently make more income onsite. On subeta, you can get csc and gold account with sP which is amazing and generous. The benefits of subeta GA are good enough that it's just a delight to have, but I don't feel punished and broke for not having it.

neopets is just mean and hostile to players. Don't you dare have a single item in your inventory or neopoint on hand or a random event will literally just take it from you. This is not a concern on subeta. I don't have to worry about the site taking away my hard earned anything for no reason.

the filters seem just as bad as they did 20 years ago on neo. Well, at least you can say gay now 🙄 but uh you still can't say "grape" "basement" "skill" or "uncle"... for some reason. There are numerous onsite ITEMS whose names you're not allowed to say because the filter will go berserk. Not to mention saying the names of unapproved websites. Neopets will literally post an official podcast on youtube but you can get in trouble for saying youtube. Nice. Again, subeta is a very free and reasonable place.

After coding pet pages on subeta for the past 10 years, going back to neopets is a nightmare. You're not allowed to do so many things in
neo htmlthat I'm left scratching my head wondering how I could possibly code my pages the way I want to look. This is one of the most important things to me so, subeta I love you. -
Subeta's rules are all pretty accessible and clearly laid out. Anything that is questionable and has never been covered before is approached with humanity before amendments are made. Neopets? I just have to laugh. There are 1 million rules all hidden in the most obscure places OR NOT EVEN WRITTEN AT ALL. You have to be born with divine knowledge of all of neopets' rules or screw you. And you know what I'm just going to tack onto this point, subeta has superior staff-player communication. period.

There's no way to know when someone is talking to you on neo. Unless they mail you. I'm talking about pings! And the ability to follow threads. Both are just wonderful features that subeta has that neo just lacks any common sense on. I seriously do not know how people have conversations on the neo boards.

subeta's site news is actually on the front page of the website. Hallelujah!!!! Where is neopets' site news? I still don't know! No place you would expect, that's for sure.
[sub]and I know neo was on its last leg a few months ago so it may be low hanging fruit these days, its now under new management and in this transitional period while trying to make improvements... point is for the most part subeta is more accessible and straightforward in many of its core features. Unless they become subeta 2.0 (how the tables have turned!) I will never be as happy there as I am on here. [/sub]

Happy birthday subeta!! I would love the option to use borders on leashed pets! :D Ive been here for 12.5 years and though a lot of it was on and off, this has always been my favourite spot on the internet to come and just exist, idk what id do without it to be honest! cant wait to see what the future has in store, especially now that im pretty much back full time here x)
Have y'all done some Battle quests yet? Who's your new favorite addition to that rotation?
If you haven't checked out Battle quests yet, they're an excellent way to add some oomph to your pet especially earlier on! Plus that rush when you finally defeat an opponent you've been losing to for ages is wonderful.
I like autotraining the health on tier 1 pets myself, but what's y'all's strategies? What stats do you pump, and which weapons are your favorites? Any sets of loot you're stockpiling for Lumi gifts, like from the gem-themed monthly Cash Shop challengers?

I turned up super freakin late, but happy birthday subeta! I joined in on the avatar fun too. My blue building wallet is weeping for the amount of sets I've bought some of my friends :,D
(Also, I'm not super far into battle quests because I have no idea what I'm doing lmfao but I have seen some new challengers at the low tiers already! Haven't gotten any of the new items yet though.)

Doing BQs with the little ones, as long as boosting doesn't cost many XPs helps mega (and the big ones hardly benefit from the early level XP turnout). Normally I've been training all stats evenly and the big ones health only anymore, with the last 2 babies I put emphasis on strength, which makes a huge difference compared to others, which have the same amount of cummulative stats. Yet, with the forboding of changes in defence that may well be all thrown over.

Re, borders for pets: I don't really have a favourite border because I change my avatars a lot and I want my avatar and my border not to clash. Earlier this day when I was Sir Soundwave from Shattered Glass I used a green border because there is a lot of green in his colour scheme, but now that I'm rocking a Clarissa Profit avatar in pink and florals I switched to the floral wreath.
For Miss Ravage I would probably pick the unlocked border I have that goes best with her design. She is always my leashed pet because she is my battle pet and a tribute to one of my favourite Transformers.
