I truly share your feelings. People who are not cat lovers just say "oh, get another cat and you will be fine." They do not understand that a beloved cat is a precious little soul and an irreplaceable little baby to us. My own heart froze when my beloved cat John-Boy died, and although I still love cats, my heart feels paralyzed and even after 4 years I still do not feel able to love another little furry guy. Needless to say, love the new little kitty that your good brother gave you, and celebrate his (or her) little life every day.
