I don't really play regularly anymore. I moved from Neopets to Marapets to Zetapets to Subeta, and this was the one that stuck. I remember not liking the direction that Neopets was going in. This site had the most fun community, so I stayed.
Member For 13 years, 6 months, 5 days so long ago I don't remember who recommended subeta but I was probably on Pony Island at the time!
I've been here for a little over 12 and a half years.
Like many, I was getting fed up with Neopets when I saw Arbor's Glade pets on DeviantArt and fell in love with the stunning designs.

Old as dirt here.
My friend actually told me about this site way back when. I'm glad they did. I remember my original UN too.... AmeiIshtal ...xD

I did an internet search for a pet site and found Subeta.
Sixteen years. I don't really play too much anymore, I log in from to time in hopes old friends may pop back up--since I do really miss that, my old roleplay buddies. I might get a bit more active on here, at some point, but I'm unsure. Discovered it thanks to Neo, which it's so wild that is having a resurgence again.
I've got memory issues so details are fuzzy. I forgot Subeta existed. I'm just starting to get back into it.
I saw a FB post about Neo getting a new owner a few weeks ago. I got a bad case of nostalgia and tried to make a new account there. Neo is so broken it's unusable, so I abandoned it pretty quickly. Still had that pet site itch, which is when I remembered Subeta was a thing.
I made a new account here recently and got a suspension for multiple accounts. They redirected me to this account which I don't remember making, but it was definitely a username I use to use online so it checks out. I think this account is something like 6 years old? I vaguely remember making my first Subeta account as a very young teen. That must have been back around 2007ish? Mom deactivated that account because I had bad grades, lol. I guess at some point in my young adult life I got nostalgia and made this one? Idk.
When I made my first Subeta account, it was around the same time Neo got bought out by Nickelodeon and became a play-to-pay pre-NFT gatcha nightmare. My whole friend group made the switch to here and we played actively for a few years. I remember really loving Subeta because I thought the art was a lot more polished than Neo, the community was more mature and I was infatuated with the little human avatars. I was also super into roleplaying at that time, and would frequent the RP forums.
As an adult, the HAs are definitely a big draw. I love that I can switch up the layering to make unique combos. I am a little sad by how small the community has gotten, but I have a lot of hope that with all the nostalgia and Y2K revivalist movements going around that there will be a strong revival. Internet needs more wholesome content. Currently fascinated by the CW function. It really appeals to me as a graphic designer and artist. I might try my hands at starting my own shop with an emphasis on 80s / early 90s style goth and punk fashion. I love that the developers seem to be really community driven, LGBTQIA friendly, and continuously work on the site. I appreciate that they aren't obsessed with trying to wring every dollar out of their userbase. Its refreshing not feeling like I have to fork out real money to make any progress.
I've been here for 16 years and 4 weeks.
I was an avid Neo user but not too fond of their strict policy. Neo community was not very friendly either. I come here every now and then, especially during Holidays like Morostide (my favorite one), Fireside, and Luminaire.
I love my pets and the alternative style of avatars. The community is super friendly and not as competitive as Neo one.

Wow, my account is way older than I thought it was! I do remember playing quite a bit in middle school so that definitely lines up.
I've tried out a few petsites in my time. Neo was my OG and I still have a soft spot for it despite the state of the site. I played a lot of Subeta (and Mweor if anyone remembers that) during my time in middle / high school.

was torn and sad when i got frozen on neopets for telling someone about pokemon... i surfed around and found subeta ...
lately i got my old neopets accounts back so i am sticking around on all
My account is about to turn 12 (mid-December). I first discovered the site on the NeoColours site, which was mostly for Neopets but had a small subeta section. I admired the art but this was back in the day when there were a bunch of... issues... so I didn't join for years. Then my main Neopets account got frozen, and I got a bit disillusioned with Neopets, so I finally took the plunge and joined Subeta. I did get my main back eventually but Neo had kind of lost its magic, Subeta is far superior. 😁
18 and a half years, and I first learned about Subeta through Neo. I was tired of that old site after a couple of years and looking for a fresh start brought me here.

Part of the mass exudus of Neo during the great pet art conversion and wardrobe. I saw someone post about Subeta on Neocolours and finally followed through to here. I still went on Neo but as time went on and then the whole update the layout to a permanent mobile layout I think I've been on Neo for around 10 days at most this year. I'll see in a few days if I even care to do the advent calendar the whole month.

apparently my account is 16 years, 2 months, 3 weeks, 2 days old. I just returned two days ago when I was suspended from Neo. I totally forgot about Subeta, but needed a pixel pet fix to get through work and came back. can't believe how much there is to do on the site, it's honestly overwhelming. I think I'll continue to play though because the avatars are fun to decorate and apparently I have a lot of money? I'd love more friends though and any advice is always welcome ^_^

For reference, I turned 30 this past summer. I've been here nearly half my life.
I was in search of a little more "grown up" virtual pet experience way back then. I found a perfect home here. Though I haven't been as active the last few years, I always come back.
~~~Selling my literal soul for this~~~
My account is over 10 years old, but I didn't actually start playing until very recently. I honestly don't remember making the account, much less where I first heard about Subeta. It's a mystery!
8 years old I used to play Neopets but didn't like the pet art conversion and stuff like that I usually play here like 1 or 2 month for year and then disappear from the rest of the time
16 years here. I don't play Subeta too regularly anymore, but I still occasionally log in to see what's going on. Like many others, I found Subeta because I was playing neo and got frozen multiple times for pretty dumb reasons. I liked the community here and the fact that the staff actually cared about the users.
12 years, 7 months exactly! XD
I've been a petsite player since very young, between Neo and Mara, and a friend suggested me Subeta, so I joined..........for about half a day and then bailed because of the confusing site layout to me at the time. My sister then came back to the game later and was enjoying it so I decided to dig up my year-old account and stayed for good this time. I loved the avatars and pet personalization options like getting to give them treasure and stories and HTML/CSS (Learned the basics of that in my Neo days), so I've stuck around ever since. I have 118 pets and 1 "complete" profile because perfectionism though, oof lol. They will not let me buy any more pet slots even though I desperately have more pet ideas, hahahah. Couldn't do anywhere near this much on Neo.
