Hello and happy holidays to everyone here!
My holidays went well; I celebrated it with my partner and his family where we just ate dinner and did karaoke. I'm generally not a big fan of the holiday season (think Grinch-levels, almost) but I'm glad I was able to celebrate it on my own terms this year, and Subeta/Luminaire also gave me something to look forward to ❤️
I've been eyeing this group for weeks and have been internally debating on sending an application, but I'm finally taking the plunge 🥹 I've put mine under a spoiler tag in case it gets lengthy.
SPOILER (click to toggle)
Username is fine, feel free to call me Sim, or Simmy for short! No other usernames prior to this one; I've only been on Subeta for a few weeks after all.
I like collecting stuff, whether it's the plushies, beanbags, clothes, or items for https://subeta.net/user_shops.php/shop/53399... I also like customizing my HA but it turns into a rabbit hole real quickly where I end up spending hours just window shopping for wearables 😅
I also like pressing the cash shop chance machine; I get a little thrill out of seeing what comes out and whether it's worth a lot or fits my style.
I'm usually online every day, which only changes when I don't have my laptop with me. I can also use Subeta on my phone but it's not the best experience so I usually just do dailies on mobile. I'll do my best to be active wherever or whenever I can, usually on this thread or on Discord, if possible.
Been looking for a group to meet more people and be part of something, and I like the vibe this group has! I don't really have a deeper reason than this lol. I'm part of the Filled Wardrobe Support Group, but no other groups that function similarly to Kindred Spirits.
I really, really like pasta. Especially tomato-based ones. And shrimp. I like shrimp. I can eat a whole shrimp without peeling it or removing the head or tail. Mostly because I'm lazy and cannot be bothered.
Thank you ❤️ Yours is also really pretty, I love the colors and the snowflake border!
Welcome to KS and subeta. I sent you an invite. We do most of our chatting here but do take a wander around the group forum. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.
“Justice will not be served until those who are unaffected are as outraged as those who are.” - Benjamin Franklin
"Woe to those who make unjust laws, to those who issue oppressive decrees, to deprive the poor of their rights and withhold justice from the oppressed of my people, making widows their prey and robbing the orphan." - Isaiah 10:1-2
Thank you for the invite! I just got home; I'll be sure to check the group forums out :)
New person! Hiiii! o3o/
Welcome! I'm Jezebelle. I'm mainly around during Morostide and Luminaire, as those are my favorite holidays here. Also I just can't keep my focus on things for long. I've already been starting to pop in less now that Lumi's over. Trying to keep my focus as long as I'm able to though.
Karaoke sounds like a great way to spend the holidays. I love singing! I love pasta too...and shrimp (even though I'm not supposed to eat it). We've got those in common. =)

It's not scary as we are prepared for it and have protocols for it. We also have water pumping stations and dikes that help remove all the water. But as our country is an end station for water from other countries (germany, Alps, etc) that come trough are rivers we are used to it. But this year is extremly high.
Work has been busy and no so fun this week. I have been yelled at, called names, slapped and had a walker pushed against me... Pff!
Hello and thanks for the warm welcome! Morostide sounds like a blast and I'm super excited about that too, so I hope I can participate next year!
How did your holidays go?
- It's a good thing yu have protocols for it, then. :)
Slapped? Called names? Run down by a walker? Aren't there protocols against such abuse? Was there a full moon? XD
- Welcome :D
They went great! My roommates and I opened our gifts together that morning and had some cookies and hot chocolate. Then my sister and I went to my dad's and had christmas there. Had a nice Christmas lunch, some pumpkin pudding, opened gifts. Then my roommates and I hung out together the rest of the day.

That sounds like a lot of fun! Glad you seem to have a nice relationship with your roommates. Pumpkin pudding sounds intriguing, I'd love to try it someday.
Oh no, that sounds super rough! I really hope things at work calm down soon and that there are no lasting marks after the walker incident!
i am glad we do.
Nope no full moon just unhappy residents. Instead of talking they did that. I don't like it when people 'abuse' healthcare workers. I did made a report about it. I am fine now, no marks, the words did hurt me a bit for a day or 2... but i am ok now..
welcome
- I'm glad you made a report and that there were no lasting marks. :D
I know it's hard not to take patients' words personally sometimes. From one healthcare worker to another, though, I promise you that nothing they say has anything to do with you and has everything to do with their own personal fear, pain, and confusion. Being sick is really, really hard and not everyone is emotionally equipped to bear that in a way that leaves room for kindness towards others. I know it doesn't make it easier to hear what they have to say sometimes, but hopefully over time framing it that way can make it so the words don't stick around for as long afterwards. ❤
i am fine., thanks. They where not in pain... they did not agree with stuff.
I went out of my way not to help them the days i worked. Was not in the mood.
And now i have nightshifts and i don't see them as they don't call at night. So in the new year i will see them but will start fresh and hope they will behave,
I hope the next 2 night will be quiet and new yeras eve to, no firework trouble at work or at home. I asked my neighbour to keep an eye on my home and the cats, she has my number just in case.
Poor Meez (tabby one) he is so scared of fireworks and since people can but it thursday he has been hiding under the bed. Comes out when it's quiet, for him i hope it's over soon.
Yesterday i went to the farm where i voulenteer. We baked oliebollen (look that up, so yummy) to sell to raise money for the farm. We sold out! And made around 300 euros! I still smell the fryer and oliebollen at me and i took a shower as soon as i got home lol
