Trying to get a 2009 virus strain and exact change(and slightly more) doesn't work. I don't wanna go too far over the sP requirement in case the overcharging thing happens. Hope this gets solved before the end of the holiday.

EDIT: Tried again just now at 8:53PM Subeta Time and it gave me the strain for the proper change.

I just tried to get a 2018 virus strain (costs 750,000) with 1,600,000 on hand and it told me I didn't have enough sP. I picked the free option, then cancelled that (mainly to go back and check the cost of what I'd picked originally :P). When I then tried picking the exact strain again (literally less than a minute after I was told I didn't have enough sP on hand), it worked (and took the correct amount of sP) o.O

I just tried to get 2011 thoughtful, dark and won't let me. I have double sP that's needed??

I've gotten this a lot. I was told I didn't have enough SP when I had nine times the amount on hand. I wonder if it's from trying to get too many strains from a similar time period/expense in a row? I tried to get several of the older strains (all over 1 mil. SP) and it would refuse the second repeatedly. When I gave up on that and chose a cheap, new one it let me sign up for that one, though. Very frustrating.

I've been trying to get Death Worms and keep getting this error even with 100k over. After pulling out 1mil extra and logging out/back in, still no virus.

I even also tried Angler and that didn't work.

Edit: Death Worms and Angler were repeatedly denied but Bubble Jelly worked so I guess that's the one I'm stuck with.

I think most arent missing sp though, I think they are saying trying to buy is telling them they dont have enough when they do..at least thats what Im gathering

I'm having this issue on the opposite end as I try to get rid of an infection. I have close to 4m sP on hand, and it's telling me I don't have enough to dispel it, despite that only being 1m in price. I have not lost any sP in my repeated attempts to get it to work, it's just annoying because I selected a random one and ended up getting a dupe and now I won't be able to try again before the event is over.

Out of curiosity is there another time of year we can get the skins? I really wanted an old one but missed out due to the error. It is such a bummer! I was checking in every few hours to make sure I caught when previous skin would finish.

For future reference: you could choose the free random strain option at the VIP. It still works since it isn’t charging you anything. If you then ask for bites on the forums, you could have gotten the strain you wanted, you just need to ask people to bite you for that strain until you’re infected. Paying for a strain guarantees that you’ll be infected with that strain, but you don’t necessarily need to pay to get the strain you want, as long as you ask for bites. It’s a little riskier to not pay for a strain, but most of the time you can still get the strain you want for free after being bitten.

I think it’s the same issue. For some reason it’s charging several times over the amount of the strain cost, but since some people don't have that extra sP on hand, they’re being denied the purchase. For those that do have the extra sP on hand, they’re being overcharged. Why it’s trying to overcharge in the first place, I have no idea.

hopefully this can be fixed... i know its fairly easy to get the "right" bites even if you do the free option but i dont mind paying to make sure i get the right one so it would be lovely if it worked

I just tried to clear my VIP infection (I went with the random Hustler choice, and wanted to try again), having taken some more sP from the vault to cover the cost (I then had just under 3 mill on hand). I got the error

I took more sP from my vault, so I had just under 13 mill on hand (the cost to clear is 1 mill), and it went through fine, taking the 1 mill as it should. I'm guessing that the page isn't reading the number of zeroes correctly somehow, and thinks we have less than we should have??

I'm currently having this issue with the 2016 Bright Bite strain & over 2.5mil on hand. 🥲

Okay so I took mone4y out of my vault to purchase the st5rain I wanted. Told me multiple times I didn't have enough. SO I decided to just do one for this year, but it took my sP.... Like, 1 mil. Just curious which strain I'm gonna be getting now..? Cuz if it's the newest one, I want my sP back :/

Having this issue again with all viruses. None work. Going to try the free option see if anyone is on to bite for which I want but if not I'll probably remove whatever the skin is and just let the rest of the skins go for this year

I'm having this issue tonight too. Trying to sign up for a 2015 virus and have more than enough sP onhand. Guess I will have to sign up for the free option and hope for the best.

beginning to wonder why this isnt seeming to be addressed by anyone on staff, this is the 2nd year this has happened now and I dont seem to recall anyone on staff saying anything(other than the thing about missing SP)
