The Edwardian era (1901-1910), often referred to as the "Gilded Age" was having a more relaxed standard compared to Victorian society, which was very conservative. While Victorian fashions had been dominated by the tightly corseted hourglass figure, the new Edwardian silhouette was that of the S curve and more lavish than the Victorian dresses.
