The original point of metal underwear was 1930s-1950s pulp SF costumes, which not a lot of people currently on site are aware of or into, but pretty much every metal clothing item on the site is used by people who make robot or mecha avatars, whether it&;s Transformers, Gundam, Saint Seiya, or whatever else people fancy.

This is why I'm against retiring stuff according to age. It's also the reason why I started this topic. Nobody, yet, has objected to the idea of broken lightbulbs being retired - if a staff member decided to retire some things they'd know not to touch metal clothing but broken lightbulbs are likely to be things that nobody would miss.

I have never understood the need for broken lightbulbs. Do they go into a genetech combo or something?

Then again I'd also be really happy if I never saw "poop food" again. The organs and stuff is fine because we do have zombies on site and they don't eat salad, but holy crap (literally) why poop.

I don't recall ever seeing any of them as a Genetech combo. They're type Other which means they are completely useless.

From what I remember, there were poop food items on the site before there were zombies. I have no idea why but artists in the early days created all kinds of strange things to go in the main shops.

Staff can't really get rid of poop foods, though, because people need them for gourmand pets.

One thing I would like to see is fewer of the quest items being purchasable from the main shops and more from player shops or just the removal of some of those items from the main NPC shops to allow for more p2p interaction.

I would say like 90% of the items I buy for quests at the lowest price come from the NPC shops, so players miss out a lot on making profits from restocks because we all purchase the lowest cost item.

This isn't going to happen any time soon. It's more complicated than just retiring a bunch of items (which we've done before! look at icy goods). It doesn't solve the underlining issue.

This is, however, something we're discussing on the backend as a staff. :)

Yeah, but they could revamp them into something more palatable. They did that with some 'Keith' foods not too long back.

Yeah, but they could revamp them into something more palatable. They did that with some 'Keith' foods not too long back. Revamping them would destroy the treasure chests of coprophagic pets, and gross food collectors. No matter what hits the chopping block/ revamp board, someone's play will be negatively impacted. For example, I was inconsolable when Jolette's Amy Lee fan stuff was revamped into Wesley "dad" themed stuff.
