Lag: A few hours ago the lag with the error pages had completely stopped. Currently, the lag is increased as the site is running considerably slower (although haven't gotten error pages).
I'd like to clarify why I suggest 5m: It took 3 days to try and get 1m in hit; however, it took about 30 min to get approx 500k when there were no lag and error pages. Thus, the capacity for users to make a dent even with high-level pets required a lot more effort than when the site is running smoothly. Cutting the amount by 1/3 makes sense when there will be no prolonged days and the site is creating delays to the point of being unable to reach regular levels of battle. A t12 pet isn't capped... but I'm using extremely powerful weapons with many freezers and she has a beefed-up strength including several stat boosters. She has a mighty punch... yet it is the lag that has hindered our progress. I cannot spend hours on end every single day losing sleep, etc. just to get through the lag. 3 days for 1m damage... vs 30 min to make 0.5m damage is a huge difference. Please help make the core have the possibility to be obtained within the limited days left... and that's apart from many users had set aside their weekend to try and vanquish hydra but now there are only a few days left during a week... when many have other obligations.
And yes, by lowering the amount it will help reduce the amount of people that are aiming to kill hydra, which should help reduce the lag.
Consequentially, it is not about trivializing, reducing the efforts, etc. of previous users that obtained a hydra core. By the way, the last time the core was distributed, it wasn't for the top 30... instead, anyone that reached the limit (which was more obtainable last time as the site was more cooperative), there were a lot that were distributed... more than 100 if memory serves me right. 5m of damage is reachable with lag we've had to deal with... 15m is nearly impossible.

I'm also pitching in to lower the threshold. I was fortunate enough to have both the capabilities and the timing to get my 15mil in during the first four hours. If not for that, I wouldn't even be trying with how much stress the site has been under and likewise would be putting me through.
'Lag' or the time it takes for a page to finish loading is really bad again. I do get short bursts of no lag.

everyone said it's fixed but i'm still not able to autoprice my shop, the items won't load. i split my shop into two shops but woof, I think I'm missing something, do I have to clear my cache or do internet magic or are we still having trouble?

It's taking upwards of 5 minutes and a risk of multiple refreshes just to complete one fight again.
We honestly need some sort of solution that is fair here - the site was running okay in the middle of the day but a lot of us (especially in the US) are at work. As of now there's only 380 users on site if the counter is correct and it's a nightmare to complete. Are we supposed to miss work? Miss sleep? When is it running okay to try to get something done?
I understand not wanting to extend when you're going to face the same issues and feel like that's not a solution but we need a concrete decision on whether the damage requirement is coming down sooner rather than later. As it stands we have just over 72 hours to hit the requirement and will have less time by the time any sort of decision is announced. Folks who are trying need to know if they've got any sort of hope.
I've given up hope for hitting 15mill because it's not possible for me. I'm not going without sleep for a game, but a solution is needed. Even awarding the prize for everyone who participated in hitting the hydrogellos.
Yeah. I'm being a bit hyperbolic there but like...I don't understand what the expectation is at this point. They're gonna discuss maybe doing something to give us something for all the clicks and lag and blah blah but like...what? Lower the requirements for the Core? Or just for the other stuff? And when are we even supposed to try for any of it with the way the site is running. It's really frustrating and I'm already anticipating the pat answers of "not everything should be easy" and "not everyone deserves X just for doing Y" and the same kind of nonsense we hear every time things are blatantly out of pocket. Like, I get it's a big prize but also it has 4 uses - 2 of which consume it (to create other weapons) and folks who aren't high enough levels definitely can't use it beyond for their wardrobe so it stands to reason it's okay if a few more folks get one. It's not going to suddenly drop to buyable like they always act like it will lol. I just am already primed I guess for it to be a mess again (I swear the year we finally have this war without issues and with clear parameters that we can meet without the site tanking I may die of shock).
Yeah, I really want to know this too! Am I wasting my time trying for 15M and ignoring my other pets? I mean I could be out there earning multiple copies of lower level prizes if they reduce the 15M requirement. All that time fighting the lag with a single pet means I get nothing but the core...and if they reduce the amount needed to earn the core AFTER the event it doesn't help me one little bit. I need to know now so I can make reasonable decisions.

The lag isn't being managed and the response being "Oh well, hopefully we can do something to make up for this" is frustrating instead of making changes to make this suck less.
I've done this event multiple times and the lag being this bad is incredibly frustrating - I'd rather err on the side of more people getting the core than less people getting the core despite putting in as much effort as previous times.
Yeah - it's really frustrating having no concrete answers to what the accommodation to made is. I usually don't have a lot of time as it is to do more than go after the core (and the rest of the prizes for hitting that) but like...I did have some time previously to try to get my next highest pet some additional rewards. This time I'll be lucky if I can even get to the Core at 15m - I'm struggling just to get to 2m right now with the lag.
Welp, looks like the lag is back. I managed to get in 2m damage this morning when the lag was fixed in a third of the time it took me to do a measly 350k damage last night. If I had been able to do all that damage then and now, I'd probably be sitting between 8-10m right now, instead... here we are. I'm having the same lag and the same issue of turns not going through. The logic behind not extending the event makes sense, and I'm glad the issue is being worked on but there's no clear messaging on what the alternative will be. I was hoping to get halfway done today so I could do the rest tomorrow and Wednesday, but it looks like that won't be happening at this rate. :/ Feels like I am wasting my time and should just give up. It sucks because if it wasn't for the lag, I would have easily done the 15m damage. :')
Honestly - the damage should be lowered. I honestly believe the people who get 5m or 10m or whatever the number is would have done the 15m anyways. If more cores go out? Who cares. I don't care if my ME loses value because I wasn't gonna sell it anyways since I use it all the damn time. Battling needs to be more accessible anyways and the insane amount of money you have to pour into your armory is one of the gates. Give out something special if you want for the people that somehow avoided lag and hit 15m. It can be something that is non-consequential - like a title, extra items, whatever.
Seconding all that in your second paragraph. I have the ME, if it gets devalued even a tiny fraction firstly: doesn't affect me as it's a core weapon for me and secondly: great! Same with Maniacal Slappy Hand or whatever it's called (what I'm trying to get my second core for). Honestly the billions and trillions it costs to have good weapons and a capped pet is sooooo absurd. Weapons for higher tier pets are already in overall short supply (there's a lot less of them as you move up the tiers) and so many are retired plot prizes or were CS challenger prizes that folks who were already highly tiered on multiple pets could get duplicates or more of and then locked after a bit behind achievements so anyone coming later could only get one (including on things that get used up to make other things) or are so expensive to begin with that it's almost impossible to get a decent set. The ways to mitigate it really haven't done that at all and are still only rewarding people sitting on billions of sP. The cost gatekeeping drives me up a wall with battling.
((and yes, for those playing at home, I have brought it up before and will continue to do so because the absolute unfairness of locking people out of something to "preserve value" when we all know value is barely going to be affected if it's affected at all is just asinine and hurts the site more than it helps))
this is the first gelatin war i've been able to meaningfully participate in and while i've mostly been having fun, i echo the sentiments of everyone else that the lag is making it a slog and seriously setting back progress for those of us who don't have either infinite free time and/or top tier stat capped pets with expensive weapons and scrolls at their disposal. i'm not even halfway done yet and was able to breeze through 2.5 million damage today before things started to chug again, without the lag i have no doubt i would have been able to make more progress with my damage tally. i knew i was going to be looking at around ~2,500 losses and millions in healer fees but i was willing to put my back into it (well, okay, my wrists lbr) and grind it out in the time given just battling while catching up on my youtube backlog over the weekend and before i go to bed, like how i got my gelatin slayer sword earlier in the event. now it feels like hitting 15 million damage is going to be a very tight finish unless i decide to shut out any other activities i may want to do than whittling away my time and sP waiting for the site to process things.
i can't imagine anyone would complain if the damage requirement for a core got reduced since an extension clearly isn't going to happen, going by the last couple pages. most of us here are adults with lives outside of subeta and (should) have higher priorities than "oh no muh maniacal core value" lmao
edit: as i was writing this post the announcement got made about damage requirement lowering to 10 mil. MUCH more attainable, thank you subeta team!!
LOL they can preserve value all they want...no way am I spending a trillion sP to purchase that one weapon that works on that one guy. Sure you keep the price high, but no one wants to/or has the sP to buy it. :P

That's honestly the boat for a lot of us. I was working towards Richest User at one point and even then I didn't go hog wild on overpriced weapons. It's just....ridiculous.
But in a surprising twist it's nice they cut the requirement just now to 10m. I don't know how feasible it is considering the continued lag and such bu we shall see.
The lag persists... only 370 online. I appreciate a reduction; however, with the lag it continues to be very difficult to advance. 10m is only one-third less yet the lag is causing much more in time delays. If the site could have continued to function like this afternoon it would have been a better chance of obtaining the 10m. It's very frustrating sacrificing hours and not making a lot of progress not because the pet is weak but because the site is slow in refreshing its pages. Please fix the lag so the 10m is realistic or decrease it to 5m.
So this is as good as it's gonna get, huh? Ok, I guess I can do this. Sometimes I even get half a dozen turns in before the lag hits again. Thanks for lowering the requirement and doing what you can. I'm still hopeful this site will be fully functional someday...been hoping that for a long time now. Guess I'm a more optimistic person than I always thought lol

I don't think it needs to be lowered more unless the lag gets significantly worse and persists for the next 3 days - which hopefully won't happen because it seems there've been steps taken to help the site function more smoothly. The lag is still there, but it's much better than before, and I haven't seen any blank pages in hours. 10m feels as doable in the current state of the site as 15m was with no expected lag/errors. Thank you for the improvements, we appreciate them!
