I haven't read the whole thread - but I'm barely ever here and I go through periods lately where I do want to finish my beanbag collection. But I need 3 out of the seasonal quest shop and it's 150 for three items.

Usually, around the time I remember how many I need and in what period of time, I stop bothering again because what's the point? By the time I get the points, they'll be gone.

Not saying change it now, just providing some perspective from a long-time player who tries to get back into the game repeatedly over the years.

I've read through the entire thread and I get both sides of the argument. I am also in the position of chasing Collection items and feeling like I'll never catch up. I do not have the time to dedicate to questing every single day, and have fully acknowledged that's on me. However, I do think the response of 'you just want to be lazy and get a free hand out' is of-itself a lazy answer meant to dismiss any serious questioning of the status-quo.

People want to play Subeta, not "win' Subeta. I want the enjoyment of the chase, not a feeling of dread and insurmountable work. I don't want things handed to me, but I believe that the evidence and reasoned arguments being presented in this thread do show that the burden on the players to 'keep up' with the QS releases has reached an unsustainable level. There needs to be a way to lessen that burden, whether it's the ability to gain more QS points through other activities or 'sales' or by some other method(s).

I don't want there to be less items or it to be too easy to get them, but every season, there's x more amount of items being added to the quest system, but only the same amount of points being able to be earned. When we are sitting here talking about how it would take more than 2 years of dedicated fully daily questing to clear the shops at this moment in time, not even accounting for future items.. how can we possibly think that is something that is beneficial to the site? How does that create any sort of an incitement to new players to stick around? How does it convince older players like myself who are still 'casual' players who are honestly trying to finish off collections to keep investing our time (and money) into a system that keeps moving the goal posts without adjusting for the larger pool of static items. That's really what is being asked here - can this system be tweaked to be more of an enjoyable experience for the player base.

Honestly, I would LOVE it if the Weekend Quests "increased rewards" included 2x points OR the final quest being a random drop from that character's shop (similar to Wizard's extra payout on his last quest of the day). If every quest giver had the chance to hand over an item from their shop or award 2x points on their special weekend, I'd GLADLY jump on them even if they weren't giving out wizard tokens or mage amulets.

Thank you for this thread!! It speaks to a lot of the things we've been talking about internally, mostly trying to answer the question of how do we keep releasing new items and keep it so that it's not IMPOSSIBLE for someone who joins today (or comes back after a few years) to catch up and get the things they missed.

One obvious change will be to the achievement structures, with less focus on (and not creating any new) tier achievements, and instead getting the new items in particular.

I'm going to enjoy reading through this!

Yeah, I feel quest point payout needs to be increased. Maybe 3 from a quest and 10-12 if you visit the bathhouse enough days???
