i've had a good day! i just had an echocardiogram (sonogram of the heart) and it came back a-ok. there is still no trace of the congestive heart failure. the tech said my heart looks as healthy as it did in my last echocardiogram (2 yrs ago). i'm so relieved i could actually dance. 😂

- sending some dances her way. having suffered a stroke myself i understand what she's going through. does she need trinkets? i'm not very quick with the dancing but i can send trinkets. 😀

- yeah, it stunk that they were stopped but they were stopped for just that reason. eventhough the child may have had his own box of special snacks to choose from, the teachers didn't want him feeling left out. unfortunately that kind of sentiment has fueled the argument that no one should be left out of anything. all should be included leading to participation trophies instead of 1st/2nd/3rd place tokens, etc. i understand the need to be inclusive but sometimes competition is a good thing. the issue is where to draw the line, i think. (braces for opposing viewpoints ;) )

- you're not old. if you're old, then i am, too. we're just beautifully aged. :D amusingly, i found the emergency room way less stressful than working a register in retail. go figure. 😂

An elderly relative of mine has just passed away. My parents got the word several minutes ago.

Honestly, I had a feeling it would happen. This relative had been inconsolable after the passing of my grandfather earlier this year. Extended family had been trying to lift her spirits, but nothing seemed to do the trick....

My feelings are mixed. I'm sad she's gone, but I know that she doesn't have to grieve anymore...

I have less stress now then when i was in healthcare... Maybe it's because i don't have to be in charge of a whole unit. But when i am at work and a lot of newbies are working (newer then me) and i am one of the only ones who can do more (zelf scan and return items register) then just the register i do get a bit stress... But i am glad i am multifunctional so i can do more and not just stuck at 1 thing.

Agreed. Another relative had died only a few months before my grandfather passed, so she had been grieving about that loss as well.

I feel that if my relative was still here now, she would require intense grief counseling. My mother says that family was with her when she passed.

im sorry for your loss. i do agree that its good that she doesnt have to live with that pain anymore. im glad that she didnt pass alone.

I am a recovering addict. it may seem cringey to share but I am so proud! yes i am happier now then with my old job. Nope just 5 days off no vacation. Dont have much vacation days (new job). I do have a vacation week off at the end of this month and in september (around my b-day).
