Day 2: Hometown- I could be here from now on talking about my hometown! I miss it more now than I ever thought I would! I'm from a very small, Southern town in WV near the Kentucky border. I miss my mountains, the sounds of rain on our roof & the creek rolling by in front of our house, the owls & different animal sounds in the woods around our house, I miss the smells from the mountains & the rain, I miss seeing all the deers & different animals just walking through our yard & up the side of the hill, I miss the simplicity & friendliness... I literally drive back & as soon as I see Welcome to WV sign, my whole body relaxes & I feel like myself! okay I'll stop now...I just love & miss my hometown more than words can say!

My favorite thing about my hometown is the 77 foot natural waterfall. It’s at a park our small town is popular for, I spent every summer out there swimming and hiking as I was growing it. It’s one of the prettiest places on earth.
A merry Unbirthday to you ! 🎂One of my favorite items on Subeta is I got this at the Pawn Shop in December.

Day 2 - Hometown - Something interesting about my hometown is that it isn't a town anymore! I grew up in a small township that got annexed by three surrounding cities after I went to college.
I come from a small town in South Dakota...most towns in South Dakota are small. All 4 of my grandparents' families homesteaded in South Dakota and we have deep roots there from the pioneering days. I've always felt very connected to that area and, often, that is where most of my dreams are set. A part of me is definitely still there. I think recently part of quarantine has been reflection. I've been reflecting on growing up there and the views that innately were instilled in me--a lot of them are incongruent with the person I am striving to be. I have had to accept them and now accept that it is time to forgive myself for being product of that environment and move forward. It's painful at times, but also very freeing. I'm proud of the little town that I come from; but, I hope it chooses to grow and evolve as well.

hometown - i like being close to everything (5 - 15 min) like beach, parks, stores, healthcare, groceries, hiking spots -- but not being in a city c: if only my friends were still here lol!
when i visit fam far away, it frustrates me going to where they live in the middle of nowhere (according to me :P) & little things like forgetting milk leads to a 90 min+ round trip q_q
Hometown!
Which ngl is hard for me because I'm from kind of the country? Like, not so far out that the nearest neighbor is half a mile away, but not in a town (or suburb) either. Also, I grew up in two different places, so which one to pick?
The only interesting fact I can think of is related to my grandma's house in the first 'hometown.' The little town was a pig farm back in the 1800s, before it got parceled off and sold around 1900 or so and the town was basically entirely built on the ol' pig farm. It's a town that really has potential for being that cute little country town from everyone's cottagecore dreams, and it used to have its own grocery store and ice cream shop and even its own lumber mill, but unfortunately, the manufacturing plants leaving the region back in the 60s-80s seems to have permanently harmed the area.
I keep having dreams (like, literal dreams when I'm asleep) where Ohio decides to build high speed rail and uses the outskirts of the town as a stop, which turns it back into a bustling place to live (since people would no longer live an hour or more by car from the nearest decent-paying jobs, since the train could get them there in 20 minutes). I'd love to have seen it in its heyday, and with some actual love and care for the area it could rise again, but I'm not holding my breath.
Yet another unbirthday, how uncanny! (lol, technically our death date is our unbirth-day) I have two hometowns, the one I lived in and the one I went to school in. The town I went to school in, and had all my social life in, has a wonderful town center where I used to meet up with loads of people, acquaintances and friends and enemies alike, we’d all just go there and hang out all day, get food and coffee, smoke too many cigarettes, people would bring their guitars, we’d go for drives and go to the park.. it was lovely c:
Merry Unbirthday!
About my hometown, I guess I can say that what I like the most about it is how it has basically anything I would ever need in my life! I live in a megalopolis and depending on where I go in the city, I can get a LOT of stuff. International stuff? We have. Regional stuff? We have. Useful stuff? We have. Novelty stuff? We also have. It has to be VERY specific and exclusive to a part of the world for it to not exist here. So basically I don't have to travel the country or the world to get what I need, I can just go to the subway, take a train and go to the area of the city that sells what I'm looking for :) And if it doesn't exist in my city, I can easily buy it online without problems because it's rare for the mail service to not be able to reach my city, so yeah, I like how easy it is to get stuff around here. Also, our pizzas are among the best pizzas in the world :D
Wishing a very merry unbirthday, and a big thank you for the fun! ❤
Day 2 - My hometown is everywhere. I am stationary for the first time in my life. In my younger days, I was a military brat, and we moved about every 3-6 months, so never really felt at home anywhere. In my early adult life, I was a travel nurse, and traveled more times than I can count. It was super fun, and I learned so many new things! Now I am married to my best friend, and we live in a tiny village, with about 400 or so other folks. My husband runs one of the oldest, and largest, working ranches in the Midwest, where sustainability and diversification are some of the most important factors in day to day life. Life is so different on the farm!
hometown - the thing i like about my hometown is that the supermarkets are nearby. i can get ice cream whenever i want. :)
Hometown!
Hmm...there's not that much to say about my home town...lol...but...ok, so historically it was bestowed the title of "Royal" by Queen Victoria because she liked the Wells in the town and visited often. It also is in the Domesday Book. And has a church that was opened in the 1600s that is still open to the public today...
Day 2 - Oh gosh my hometown was notoriously known as "Oh that shitty place" because honestly it kinda sucked lol. But anyway I find it kinda interesting I could tell pretty much any Canadian the name of my home town and the reaction is generally horror mixed with pity because everyone in the country knows by name just how much my town sucked xD
Day 2: Hometown
I grew up in a little town in the middle of the state of New South Wales in Australia. I'm an only child and the town was only 1,000 people. So everyone knew everyone. That poses a problem when you're the kid they all pick on. I left as soon as I finished high school at 17. Would never go back to live. Ever. I prefer suburbs now.
Woo hometown My hometown is San Francisco, I could wax poetic for years and years about it. It's dirty, has a lot of crime, a terrible homeless problem, rent/property prices are ridiculously sky-high (3k/month for a studio?!), so are prices for everything else, and there's never any parking... but I love it still! I love how unique it is, there's truly no other city like it in the world, so much history crammed into those 49 square miles! And it's truly beautiful despite all the dirt and garbage. I moved back to California so I could be closer to the city and to my family... property in California is expensive so the closest I could get was about three hours away, but I have no regrets!
Day 2/Hometown Mine is a large city, and I can't imagine living otherwise! The convenience is unbeatable and there's always lots going on. Even going on holidays I usually prefer city trips c:
My hometown is a town in the west of Germany, I lived there until I was 18. I love coming back around February because we celebrate carnival here. German carnival is a little different: there will be parades with people throwing candy off of decorated wagons. Everyone dresses up like it's Halloween and you have parties. The bigger cities will be packed. Cologne for example is known for it but here in the smaller cities around it we have people putting up massive tents for everyone to drink and celebrate in. It's perfect because everyone who moved away will come back to celebrate carnival. Sadly, we haven't had carnival since 2020 and there won't be one this year either but I am looking forward to the next one! My next costume will be "Christmas Tree" which is a really unconventional costume. Mostly, people will be pilot, lady bug, clown, princess or something like that. In the past, I've dressed up as pirate, dragon, musketeer and butterfly :)
