Adventure - I have a goal this year to hike 365 miles! I'm pretty lucky to have four state parks within a half hour's drive from my home, so hopefully I can reach my goal. I love hiking in the winter especially because I can see so many animal footprints in the snow, it's super cool to know a fox or a rabbit shared a path with me! :)

The final day, adventure! Once, a friend of mine posted on Facebook that they needed to find one more person to split a hotel room for this yo-yo convention in Cleveland. I decided, why not, so I drove from Connecticut to Ohio and spent a few days just enjoying the city with my long distance friend and a few random people. And the yo-yo competition was sooo cool, like a combination of dance and flow arts. We went to the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame and that was such a wonderful experience. The sunset was beautiful over the water and I was also part of a world record attempt for most people yo-yoing at the same time. Don’t know if it worked, lol. Thanks for the chance at the raffle, and thanks for the opportunity to travel down memory lane!

Very Merry Unbirthday to you!

Adventure. My biggest adventure was when I realised I won't win the lottery to travel and started saving up for 7 years slowly ($10-30 a week) and buying a round the world trip ticket. I had friends online and stayed with them around the USA, Canada, UK, France and Finland. I ended up staying in the UK for 2yrs and came home married! Definitely recommend to see other countries and cultures.

Adventure: Well I'll have to go with bucket list/plans cause I'm not an adventurous person really. I tend to live vicariously through stories/books/ etc. I'd love to be able to go on an adventure with my sister. We have so much fun together so I know it would be an adventure wherever we would go.

Jan 27 – Adventure (ex: share a story, item on your bucket list, plans for this year, etc.)

plans for this year: Imma grow a garden.

The last two years I've had a potted garden on my balcony (and...last year didn't go so well because of 2 unexpected late frosts, then moving), but this year I have a yard, and I'm gonna grow food in it, and then I'm going to share the food with people who need it. At least, I hope to have enough to share - I'm trying a lot of plants that I've never tried before and seeing how I do.

I am also working on replacing my front yard with native perennials, though that is going to be a much slower process.

I'm not a very adventurous person I'm afraid. The thing closest to an adventure was probably going abroad on my own. I did it three times, nothing spectacular though. The first time I went to England to visit my penpal for years for the first time. I just ended a long-term relationsship and felt pretty low back then. So when I got the offer to go to London over NYE I didn't think about it much and said yes. So I went on the plane to London on my own, met a friend in London for several days first and moved on to my penpals flat afterwards. And what should I say, it doesn't sound like much, but for me it was a lifechanging expierence. I travelled a lot before and often even organised these trips, but I never went on my own. It gave me a lot of confidence in my own abilities. The second trip is connected to the first trip and happened about a year later. One of my penpals friends that I got to know in England booked a ski holiday in Austria with several friends and asked me if I'd like to join. And again I said yes. I didn't know the person very well and the only communication for a year happened over Facebook messenger, but it was another good decision. I even drove there by car by myself, on the German motorway, and everybody knows I hate driving long distances. The last trip led me to Finland to my penpals wedding (she's Finnish, he's British). I travelled alone there again, but I already knew plenty of the British people attending the wedding, so this was probably not so adventurous anymore.

So one can say, I owe my penpal a lot. She's been my friend for about 20 years now, we are in touch almost every day and even though visiting each other became more difficult now that both of us have children (and because of the Covid restrictions of course) I still feel very close to her. She's the one I talk to about topics I can't talk to anybody else.

Sorry, I'm afraid I got distracted. LOL

Edit: Going to Iceland is my dream since I was little. I didn't make it so far, but it's on top of the list! I hope you'll be able to go there soon!

Last day! Adventure!

Well the top thing on my bucket list is to see the Grand Canyon. I cried when I saw it in VR so I know it would be my favourite place on Earth. Maybe one day I'll get to go in person..

My Biggest Adventure...hmm...oh...ok

Reference to Domestic Violence (brief mention) So, in 2019, I left my partner to go into a Women's Refuge because he was a mentally and physically abusive nitwit. In the UK you are only allowed to stay in the refuge for 6 months...however I was extended until the 13th March 2020 due to some issues finding home placements.

The adventure starts when I tell you that I went into temporary accommodation on the 13th of March...a hotel.

Guess what happened a week later? We went into lockdown and ALL hotels were closed down. So, I got moved into a caravan in the middle of nowhere, with no traffic/transport links, no shops (except a farm shop) nearby to buy food and no help available to me because of the pandemic.

Now, I suffer from PTSD and depression and several forms of anxiety...I could have collapsed in a ball of mush and sobbed and failed. But did I do that?

DID I HELL!!!

Believe me when I say, I damn well BLOSSOMED. I interacted with people online, I talked to people at the Farm Shop, I exercised, I played music loudly, I danced, I learned to cook meals on a tiny budget, I earned a diploma in Nutrition...I became a MUCH better version of me...

And in August 2020, I was offered a flat which is where I am writing this from right now.

Life is its own adventure...but only if you let it be!

For quotes (missed deadline bc of time differences): "Energy follows attention." (One of my most loved Huna principles, I try to live remembering this!)

For adventure: We moved into a new house in the countryside in December, away from the big cities and far away from all the cities we lived so far in our home country. We're looking forward to roaming the area, find the best places to stroll, visit, restaurants and so on! All of 2022 will be an adventure!

Adventure

A few years ago my family took a vacation to the Oregon coast. Unfortunately, I had injured my foot the month before and had to wear a large walking boot. While I didn't get to do everything I had wanted to and I had to be pushed around in a wheel chair at some places, I still had a really fun time. It was definitely an experience!
