I only remember the snowballs periodically. More when I have extra time available, I'll be like, hmm what can I do now? oh yea, snowballs! :P
I've re-read my music chapter this morning (and I've already done the practice questions). So, I only have the Listening and the Quiz left to do. This section doesn't have to be completed until Feb 11, but I'll probably finish it this weekend (and if I hold myself back, I'll finish it by next weekend, the 5th/6th) :P
I am frustrated by my farmville2 game - today and yesterday it won't load completely. GRRR. Leaves me lots of extra time when I can't play that! :P :P :P
Sorry you got woke up early, but yay for more game time? I do have small feet. I always have. My daughter is now in a 7 or 7.5 in most shoes.
TURKEYS ARE ASSHOLES.
OK SO. Let me tell you some of my bird stories, and maybe you'll see why I hate them all. :P
When I was in elementary school, a goose chased a group of kids onto the bus, then was running up and down the aisle honking and hissing at people! It finally stopped when some of the big 6th grade boys put their backpacks on it's head and then the bus driver chased it out the back door, but it was traumatizing!
Then, when I was in high school, I was changing shirts ( I had like 20 minutes to get to work from cheer practice, and we didn't have locker rooms) at a stop sign in the middle of nowhere, when a bird flew in through the window, got tangled up in my shirt/hair/arms. SO. You know. TRAUMATIZING :P
Then another time I was just driving down the road, ANOTHER BIRD flies in through the window, and then is just FLYING THE HELL AROUND MY CAR AS I'M DRIVING DOWN THE ROAD SHRIEKING TO HIGH HELL. I finally just stopped in the middle of the road and opened all the doors to get it out.
THEN a few years ago, stopped at a stop sign.. turkey flies RIGHT INTO THE SIDE OF MY VAN and DENTS IT.
Also, I was cleaning out Alex's car, when a turkey FLIES DOWN FROM THE ROOF and wouldn't let me out of the car.
Another time it was just standing in front of the back door and wouldn't let me out.
Another time it BURST THROUGH the screen door and was just SITTING IN A CHAIR IN MY LIVING ROOM.
I hate big birds. Anything bigger than a cardinal is sus.
OMG Mieke, in your car? I would so freak. Thats insane. I can see the one making a dent, but INSIDE your car?? UGH! And in your clothes? How the heck did that even happen :o I've had a bird in my house, thanks to the cat.... trapped it right at the door and then meowed to be let in, so in comes the bird too. But it was a songbird, not a turkey!!
Twice in my car!
And in my clothes.. well, that's what happens when your arms are over your head, trying to take a workout shirt off LOL
I've got a headache today. And still annoyed by farmville. GRRRR 3 days now.
Hubby worked yesterday morning, so he came home and napped, and so we did our regular shopping this morning. Just home from walmart now, and about to head out to Ingles for meats and other things we don't get at walmart.
Am seriously debating a bigger shampooer - the one I have is a mini. And with the dog peeing constantly.... [edit] 1/31 @ 650 am So I did get a new shampooer. And shampooed the carpet. Looks much nicer. (Need a new carpet honestly, this one is 15yrs old, but can't afford the prices for carpet or laminate installation!). I also tried my Music listening/quiz - the one that i can redo a million times. I did bad :P I mean, 72 is passing, but how am I so horrible at remembering rhyme, rhythm, meter, beat, etc? Guess I need to start taking NOTES instead of just trying to remember, eh? If I can remember to take notes. Glad I can redo the thing and get the right answers.
Tomorrow is February!! Who is ready for Survival?? :D I am!! I like earning new skins, even if I don't ever really wear them LOL
Moorrning.... ugh Monday again.
Mieke, I don't think I've ever heard of s/one having as many bird incidents as you have. That's pretty crazy!! Those wouldn't be funny events, either. (Well, ok I did see a video where this guy and this turkey circles his truck nearly half a dozen times before the turkey gave up and it was pretty amusing watching them just go round and round.)
If you guys get on a PC, google "lunar new year 2022". What happens is SO cute!! I'm a day early but I was ready to change into my Lunar NY outfit. 😸
I'm ready to see what new items they come out with for Survival. Although they're usually not as cute as stuff in Ester's shop, they've come out w/ some pretty cute stuff.
So you like being a zombie, Kat? :P I like how the progression has improved a lot and it's fun to watch but honestly the final results haven't been as impressive (to me) as the progress. One year was just horrible, too. It's like the artist just threw together a mish mash of partial ideas.
Time for more coffee.

Yeah, I've had uh.. issues. With birds. :P
But I love my birdfeeders! Small birds are okay. Chickens and up.. not so much. Stay awayyyyyyyyy!
Survival isn't my favorite, just because I'm not really into anything.. remotely.. icky. I don't like ick. And zombies are all ick :P
Vesnali and Morostide are my favorites. Luminaire is nice but isn't really an event, per se.
Can't use bird feeders around here b/c of the obnoxious number of squirrels we have. I've watched the neighbors across the street try different hangars, one being some sort of steel that couldn't be climbed up, but they placed it near a tree and their deck (DUH) and the little assholes would just jump on the top of it. I do have a hummingbird feeder but don't get many of them.
There's a sparrow nest on my porch and one year I didn't think it was still being used - think it was last year - and went to get the crap out of there and 4 little babies popped out, trying to fly. I freaked and ran to get them but only managed to get 3. Don't know what happened to the 4th but they were nearly flight ready so it might've been fed and taken care of outside the nest. The other 3 I popped back in the nest and went back inside, lol.
Oh, forgot to mention - I went to a couple stores on Saturday and one was the Asian marketplace and I was like a kid in a candy store. Been meaning to get back there and paying stupid prices for stuff on Amazon really got me in the mood. Picked up a couple new bowls, including a new ramen bowl that I'm in LOVE with! I'll upload the pics of it and share in a few. :P
[edit]

Oh gosh, it's so cute! We don't have anything like that around here, but I loved the one at EPCOT? :P
I do want to go out sometime, maybe tomorrow or Wednesday. I just ordered a new Christmas tree storage bag from Amazon, so I'll maybe finally take the tree down Wednesday, then I'd like to pick up a basket from somewhere for all the blankets on my desk. They take up a lot of space, but I DO want them up here and close so.. I think a basket will work best. Sometimes it gets COLD in front of the picture window where my desk is. But how else would I watch the birds? :P
We only have two squirrels, and I bought them their own feeder haha. The only issue is the bear, but I take the feeders down in Fall so that he doesn't eat them.
My living room is always chillier than the rest of the house. I'm too lazy to put up plastic, but really I just hate dealing w/ it.
Thank gawd there are no bears nearby! I see no use for them.

We have plastic up! LOL
And we got new windows put in a few years ago, but it's still a big window. The whole house is pretty cold honestly, but we all have cozy clothes and there's lots of blankets around the place.
Downstairs living room and kitchen don't have heat, so we use a little plug in heater, which keeps it warm enough, but when everything is set to 65.. it's still only 65 :P That's cold, when you're sitting still! haha.
Our bear is Phil, she's basically just a big dog. And it's our own fault when she takes the trash bags for a picnic basket, not hers. We tend to compost, which keeps her in the back yard by the woods instead, but sometimes... we make mistakes!
I have my heat set at 67 and that's chilly enough for me. The rooms above where the furnace is in the basement are the warmest due to shitty ventilation. My room is one of those really warm rooms so I tend to crack the window by my bed, tuck the curtains in so just a small space lets in air and sleep by it, lol.
I started to compost out in the yard a couple years ago, but I got too many pesky rodents like raccoons and opossums. I need some type of barrel or maybe just a big bucket? I don't know.

We already have the raccoons, and possums are great! They eat ticks and stuff.. and they're north americas only marsupial!
Well, they're great unless they chase you down the road when it's dark out. Then they're terrifying :P
To be fair.. we also don't have fences around most of our garden, because I feel like everyone should have a chance to eat. Alex says I'm just a hippie tree hugger haha.
67 would be nice, but heating oil and electricity are soooo expensive that I'd rather wear gloves inside if need be :P
My house has little to no insulation so I have to keep it at 67 just to maintain some warmth. Most days when it's in the teens and 20's, I walk around cold unless I wear a blanket, lol. That's the max I've been willing to go down to just because of the gas prices.
Opossums don't bother me... it's the raccoons that piss me off. They have torn through a number of chickens I've had THROUGH the fencing until the run is now layered up with 3 types of fencing. Nothing worse than picking out parts of chickens from inside and in the fencing. It's fucking GROSS. Not to mention the ducks they've eaten.... yes, had those also but they were kind of a pain to take care of.
No fences around my garden, either. I was only mad when the rabbits kept eating my kale. I keep tomatoes up close to my house to deter the deer that occasionally cross through. No one touches my tomatoes!

We only got the tomatoes to actually grow this year, and I was SO EXCITED haha. They're my favorite.. but we never got enough to bring inside and eat, because uh.. Lily and I just ate them all off the vines :P
Ugh yeah, I wouldn't like that, either. My aunt did have that issue with a fox once, but only once. Thankfully, the cats and raccoons get along well.
You've got me so looking forward to spring, lol.

Me too! I was talking to Alex yesterday morning. I just want to be outside, doing things. I've got big plans to do the trim on the house this year, and everything needs to be pressure washed. it needs to happen, it's been.. oh.. 50 years or so :P
And there's these flower beds under the house, I never understood why because.. what can grow there?! There's zero sun like.. it's awful. I'm going to fill them in so they're even after years of animals digging in there for nothing, and then put some decorative gravel down there. And then maybe the girls can paint some rocks.. and I can put some of those out there, because I already have a ton of the ones that they painted :P I think it'll look nicer! And last year we dug a.. weed? bed out, but we didn't level it yet, and the place where the camper was parked needs to be levelled out too.
so there's a lot of work to do, but I'm looking forward to it! We've been slowly fixing things over the past few years, but these are my chores I'd like done for this year.
I've given up, we're not buying new furniture or anything inside, or redoing the floor, until the kids move out because uh.. they ruin EVERYTHING. But I can at least make the outside look nice!
lol YES to the outside looking nice!!
I can't say I really look forward to doing the outside work, as it will be a LOT since I plan on extending the veggie garden and that's just a lot of damn digging and back breaking work, but I do like the satisfaction of seeing it all w/ mostly fresh soil, everything planted and watching it all grow.
There's a number of plants that don't like full sun that would be perfect for those places. If it's easier, I would go that route other than paying for gravel - depending on the cost of getting gravel delivered.

No, there's really ZERO sun. Like.. none. It's completely under the house, and then there's an overhang too, so there's like.. NO sun. :P
Gravel should be pretty cheap, and Alex or his dad can even pick it up in one of their trucks.. and there's a place right up the road that does free delivery too, I think. The hardest part will be figuring out the math on it!
Easy access to gravel, plus trucks, is SWEET!
Here's a couple of ideas, though - https://blog.gardenloversclub.com/houseplants/plants-that-dont-need-sunlight/ https://www.bhg.com/gardening/flowers/perennials/shade-flowers/
;)
And yeah... have fun w/ the math for the amount/space you would need. I can't even calculate how much peat I need to surround the bushes each year, lol.
