So I noticed that the other topic about this issue was moved to dismissed reports, which is fine since it was essentially a duplicate thread... but it really would be nice to get an update on this, if at all possible! Linking by ID still works perfectly fine, but when you have 100+ pets (like me lol) and you enjoy linking your pets to each other, it's /very/ convenient to use username/petname instead of having to search for their ID links.

Would desperately love to see this fixed soon. I'm treating my pet profiles like a wikipedia for my universe, and it'd be MUCH easier to work on them with this problem fixed!

Keep in mind that even pets with legacy names aren't linking properly with the sCode shortcut. Aran still has her legacy name, so

Adding another voice saying this is still broken, and it'd be very nice to hear something about it. Even if it's just a "we're aware and it's on the list."

While ID links work, this solution is obtuse and isn't conducive to actually being able to share our work with each other.

my profile is doing that too...I would go to click on one of my pets from my profile and it says this pet does not exist

the links have been broken since november last year. can we get any updates, so much stuff is inaccessible rn, so many broken user profiles and free resources hosted on pet pages <:I

Subeta, my beloved. Please understand that, when I say that I am frustrated, I say it with all the love in my heart. I really, truly do love this website and am so, so thankful for the creative opportunities it has given me.

But you've pissed me off. ME. The person who is usually chill about everything on this site, even when shit's falling apart.

I'm pissed that this issue hasn't been acknowledged by staff, as far as I can tell. I know things are tough right now - y'all don't have enough programmers, everything else is falling down around you - and I get it. Fixing these links is probably one of the last things on your minds. But I really wish somebody, somewhere would say "Hey, we see you guys, we're aware of the issue and hope to fix it as soon as possible!".

I don't even want a timeline as to when y'all think it'll be fixed, because I know it's hard to stick to timelines. I just want... acknowledgement. I know Subeta isn't as much of a pet site as it used to be, but as evidenced by this thread, there's people who still deeply care for the pet aspect of the site, and want it to function correctly. This apparently has been an issue since November - so, what, it's been six months now?

I'm sorry, I really hate to publicly vent. Please know that I have the highest respect for the staff who continue to keep this website alive, out of the goodness of their hearts. I just... agh. Personally, I'm really only here for the pets, and the character development that goes with them. I really miss being able to link pets with the username/petname shorthand, and I hope that we can get this functionality back soon. <3

I really have to echo Soren's sentiments. While it's mostly a matter of convenience and probably doesn't seem like a big issue to others, this still-ongoing thing is quite honestly the biggest thing that's been keeping me from getting back into the site. I'm a pet person; I don't like HAs, I usually forget they exist, and I haven't changed mine since Morostide. This probably shouldn't seem like such a huge issue but I find it demotivating for not just working on pets, but even just displaying them on my profile, and the fact that it hasn't really been acknowledged has been quietly bothering me for months now.

I prefer to have custom, CSS-based buttons to link to my pets rather than using the default pet display option on user profiles. I have 124 pets (and will be happily getting slot in a few days); looking through my pets to find the right ID number to link is a pain. I also really hate the idea of taking the time to get a bunch of pets displayed with the ID number link and then having to go back and change things once this is finally fixed, so I've just been procrastinating on adding my pets back to my profile while I wait for this to be fixed.

Virtually every pet that I own is connected to at least one of my other pets (but usually more) and I, again, prefer to have custom, CSS-based links on their profiles rather than using the default 'pet friends' option. It's annoying to go through and change existing but currently non-functioning links that I expect will one day be fixed, so I have, again, been procrastinating. This means that I've been procrastinating on working on my pets, because I'm demotivated when it comes to working on profiles, which means that I haven't been working on pets, which means that I haven't been looking for treasure chest items, which are what the majority of CSC that I spend go toward.

I've actually forgotten to buy monthly collection items for the past few months in a row (and I'm someone that has pretty consistently bought at least the monthly book for years), because not working on my pets means that I'm not really doing much of anything on the site. At some point, I think my "I'll just wait to work on things until this gets fixed" became a point of stubbornness, because I know I could get over the inconvenience and work on things anyway. I'm just frustrated by the fact that this has been an issue for months and it hasn't been acknowledged much at all. I'd really just like acknowledgement that this is indeed a known issue, even if that acknowledgement is followed by "There are bigger priorities right now so I'm not sure when it'll be looked at but we know it's an issue!"

I know there are valid reasons for why Subeta isn't as much of a petsite as it used to be, I know that the site has been paid for out of pocket at times, I know it's a labor of love and not something that brings in revenue. I really, really do; I've been supporting this site for years and while I've vented frustrations from time to time like I'm doing now, I've also always tried to consider how difficult things for staff.

This is one of those times where my frustration is getting the better of me and I need to speak up. I just want this to be acknowledged, more than anything. I know it can seem pointless to say "hey we can't do anything right now and it's not a priority at the moment!" but just having some kind of confirmation that staff indeed has this on their minds to some degree, even if it's on the backburner, makes a big difference to me.

I use this site as a way to express my characters, art, and stories. Lots of people do. I also don't like to complain but this has gone unaddressed for so long.

Not going to say more but I totally agree with Soren a few posts up.
