They aren't, but a difficult task is upon me. My car's axle blew out, from the lower control arm coming out of the steering knuckle. I'm left with a stranded car and a hefty cost to replace the components. That this occurs during the end of the semester is both a good thing and bad. I won't need to use my car for now, but I can't take it to shop for repairs.

The situation at least was a good test of my knowledge, I was able to reinstall the lower control arm before being towed away. I also know why this happened, it seems I hadn't checked all the bolts in the steering knuckle to ensure proper torque. Hard ways sometimes are the only way to learn.

I could really use a drink now, but this late in the evening it could interfere with my meds.

oh crap, i assume nobody was injured? D:

im glad that it happened in a low risk time and place, even if it still sucks

i know its childish (and too late) but once when i found myself wanting to drink, i poured a cup of juice and pretended it was booze. its stupid but it made me laugh

I'm glad to know it's something I can take care of. The following work I can do, but not on my own. An alignment is within my ability, but the timeframe is not favorable.

But a plus is I've been contacted about a job, and my duty is to make the appropriate change in my application.

I did the same thing, I poured me a juice cocktail, and shrugged it off.

the wardrobe takes some getting used to, but making outfits is one of my fav things to do here. sometimes i find the amount of items i have to be overwhelming actually, but they've gotten really good at helping us organize and filter everything. sometimes i'll pick just one item and build an outfit with that theme.

h3h3 has been on youtube for such a long time, but i only just recently started watching their stuff. very good background noise, it's like having a group of friends chilling with you while you go about cleaning. beyond belief and sparks navada were bangerssss omg best stuff on there. i loved the characters they created after a long day of work i just wanna turn my brain off and watch cartoons and eat food. audio books def help with the less reading but i do miss carrying around a 50lb book sometimes lol

there's a podcast for everything and everyone at this point. i love the endless entertainment. i usually find new music on spotify or i'll give random youtube suggestions a try.

end of the night, got my dalies and took care of the kitties. time to kick back, smoke and relaaaaax

Ahhh, yes. The liberation of the word "no". A powerful tool when you find the courage to use it. I just listened to a podcast yesterday in which a therapist says that he loves telling people "no" when he doesn't want to do something, because it opens up opportunity for him to do something he wants to do. His cohost admired this simple mindset, as he struggles to tell people, "no." I used to be like the cohost, now I'm a lot more like the therapist. xD

I feel tired too often. xD I'm probably defficient in some sort of vitamins or minerals. And physical activity, haha.

"Jaunty" definitely describes it well!

I used to use Pandora a lot, but I've heard from plenty of people that Spotify is better. I think it's neat how they give you statistics at the end of each year for what you've listened to most. I have what I consider a little "problem" with not diving deeper into an album after discovering a single song that I really like, so I'm trying to do better about pulling up albums on YouTube and listening to them in their entirety.

I very badly wish I had a kitty! :( But my landlady charges $50 a month extra just to own a pet, which I find to be too steep for me to comply with.

Well, this last shop revealed the class's overall grades before finals, there were two "A"s. Me and one other student, the rest were a mix of "B"s and "C"s. Everyone's average should change after finals, I know mine could have been higher. My fiasco with my tuition bumped me down a few points having missed one shop day.

Today's shop though was more or less open, but I was unable to do much since I forgot the key to my toolbox. I was limited to an inspection of my truck's brakes.

comfy channels are always great

OH SPARKS NEVADA YEAH, that was a good one even if we didnt hear it often. as a star trek fan, croach was my favorite bc he is not unlike spock XD

theres just something special about the weight of a bunch of paper in your lap (also the smell is good, and its hard to sniff mp3 files)

toddlers know whats up when they use 'no' a lot when they learn it XD

oh yeah same Xp i bribe myself into running with a combo of Zombies Run and my brother sending me bee movie memes when i dont exercise. it works more or less XD we also have a bottle of vitamin d supplements and i notice i dont yawn my ass off every evening when i take them, maybe you could try that out?

congratz on the grade! even if its not strictly official yet

hopefully your car repairs go well

I should be able to make my repairs as soon as the axle arrives, tomorrow at least. I can foresee the only hard part being to loosen the axle nut. 150 ft-lbs. is a lot of torque, especially if done by hand. It could be I'll spend as much time on just the nut as the rest of the job.

do you have any favorite types of cars? or is it jsut yours (my mom likes muscle cars for instance)

In this kind of job, damaging the old parts is not always an issue. I will have to hammer out the old axle, and pry the other end from the transmission. Stripping bolts is a rare thing in my experience, sometimes a replacement is relatively easy. Now broken bolts is another thing, I never got any real training in what to do there.

My interest in cars is limited, but to name a few there is a 1970 Plymouth Roadrunner, and 2019 Ram 1500 Crew Cab Rebel. I'm more interested in maintenance and repair, not so much the vehicle itself.

Under some advice from a friend who took this major, my next prospect in this may be transmissions. Manual is recommended first.

oh i LOVE the roadrunner, very "80s action movie" and its got a rly nice front bumper. the rebel looks like a brick with wheels and i mean that as a compliment

i can understand not being interested in car shells, im picky about the looks myself XD a lot of modern cars seem to look the same and its not very interesting

is there a specific reason manual is recommended? like, is it easier than other areas or is it more of a base that makes learning the other stuff easier?

My interest in the Roadrunner was sparked by a cartoon. Hot Wheels Highway 35... My favorite of course is the Scorchers team leader.

I've been recommended transmissions to follow, but I saw that manual has been phased out. So my focus will be on automatic and transaxles. I think that was the case, I do recall reading the material several years ago. A friend needed help with notes and asked me to complete the assignments to compare with his after grading.

Ooh, I forgot about this video , it shows some size comparisons of stars. First Sun is on par with Rigel, and it goes on...

I'm not one to keep them for display. Usually my nephew will grab them to play, and they get well appreciated.

I'm used to hearing the Spanish slogan Atrapame si puedes .

I've been learning that in some cases, the information is available from printed or electronic sources. The real skill is hands on, where mistakes can occur. A tech must rely on logic and elimination to find the problem.

It is beyond any practical scale, I wonder how I would figure out how far Vioran is from at least First Star.

And... Tomorrow mine taking my car to be evaluated for repairs, I'm unsure if I would need to take a bus home or if arrangements for a rental would be included.

heck yeah, toys being played with is the best kind of appreciation, and that slogan is FANTASTIC

yeah, it definitely seems like a more hands on type of craft

star distance would probably involve lots of math XD i've seen some photoshop renders of what earth's sky would look like with different planets and stars in place of the one we have

i hope your transportation goes painlessly

mine has been stressful bc of various health troubles in my fam, but its all going swimingly, so im counting that as my holiday present XD

i hope yours are going good as well!
