An elderly relative of mine has just passed away. My parents got the word several minutes ago.

Honestly, I had a feeling it would happen. This relative had been inconsolable after the passing of my grandfather earlier this year. Extended family had been trying to lift her spirits, but nothing seemed to do the trick....

Damn, had mine any appropriate words to give. So sudden this can be...

So so sorry to hear this. There never seems to be enough to say when a loved one passes, and those quiet, shocking first moments of realization that we will never see there face on Earth again, just rocks us. Know you are in my heart. HUGS

My mom went to see her, and apparently my poor relative was NOT in great physical shape. I heard that doctors had discovered cancer somewhere on her body too....

Even if she had lived, I'm certain my relative would have required grief counseling as well as any potential cancer treatments.
