We had a terrible wind and rain storm overnight. The basement was flooded in the home. Rain was also coming into some of the windows. Aids were going around all night mopping up water in the apartments. I was lucky and didn't have a problem. A huge dead tree in my daughter's next door neighbor's yard came down and landed right across my daughter's huge deck. Didn't even touch the house it fell from. My son-in-law asked them several times in the last two years to have it removed. Thankfully nobody was hurt. Now it will be removed along with deck. :(
oh I hate that flooding type of rain :( but very pleased to hear that at least you weren't effected....That's terrible news regarding your daughter's neighbour's tree. Did your daughter hear the crash? Are the neighbours paying for the cost of removal? As you say, it's a miracle that nobody was injured. The fence would've smashed as well?? The winds must have been very strong where your daughter lives......On the plus side, she'll probably get more sun into her backyard now.

Yes, they heard the crash and knew what it was immediately. My daughter just lives a walk away from me. Expecting the neighbors insurance will pay for the damage. My son-in-law already hired a company to handle the whole thing. The tree was dead and had been for two years so it wasn't giving any shade. haha When I went and looked at the base all that had been holding it up was one rotten root. The tree has already been removed today but all the wood has to be taken care of and That's now in my kid's yard. Told them it should have been put into the neighbor's yard to deal with. I hope the neighbors insurance will have to cover it and the kid's won't have to pay the deductible. WE do love the neighbors - just a widow and her son so really no bad will even though my son-in-law told them repeatedly for two years they needed to get rid of the tree before it fell. At least grilling season is over. The big grill, table, chairs and gazebo that was on the deck are wrecked too. Oh well - stuff happens and no person was harmed. :)
Your daughter and son-in-law are very nice not to be upset with the neighbours. I'm sorry to hear about all the damage to the other property. Yes, let the insurance companies handle it! I hope all the wood will be removed soon!! :(

compared with what that storm did to parts of the province, the tree damage pales. I had no idea to what extent the damage was until today. The phones were out completely in a lot of the province, Lots of landslides with cars and people disappearing. It's a real nightmare. I'm just so thankful our granddaughter finally got home. She was visiting her sister here. Going home took her miles out of her way to avoid the flooding and slides. Had to stay overnight one night. Usually takes her six hours. Took her two and a half days.

sorry to hear about the damage your daughter’s deck had due to the fallen tree. It can be very scary when stuff like that happens. I am glad everyone was ok.
I haven’t had a chance to read back much. I’m going to try to pop in here more often. Sorry I have not been good at doing that. The new school year has kept me busy and then I spend most of my time questing when I get on the site.

thank you very much. I understand exactly how you feel. Sometimes, you just want to zone out after a long day and doing something like quests can help you relax (although for me, doing quests is more likely to put up my blood pressure :)).....Yes I'm looking forward to both Fireside and Black Friday.
that's terrible news about what's going on in your province. Are you in British Columbia? The people disappearing is terrifying!! Have they found the people yet? We're not receiving news down here about this. I wonder what's being done to prevent these landslides? I hope the weather has settled down now.
@ Debra, the last I saw there were still people missing. I can't imagine how horrible that would be. I'm praying by some miracle the missing people were able to get out and just haven't reported that they are alright.

haha yes exactly. It is easy to just mindlessly click for the quests. I’m also participating in a quest and shop sprint right now so trying to hopefully place within one of the top 3. I don’t think I will be there for the shop til amounts as a bunch of people had some really big sales. But, hopefully I will for the quests.
So fireside will start tomorrow- that’s good! I can’t wait to see the new wearables and hopefully new minions.
What are you guys looking to get on Black Friday, if anything?

I can't think of anything specific I want from the Black Friday sales but in the back of my mind there's a boutique item I want. I'll have to wait to look at all the old sets again. Also I'm hoping they'll bring out some of the retired backgrounds and minions. They usually stock a lot of great new items as well which I'll try and snap up......What about you, is there anything you're particularly looking for?

On a brighter subject , I went to a bridal shower this afternoon. I can't even remember the last one I went to. The bride to be is my best friend's granddaughter. There were only about 20 people there. We had to wear masks. I Had a terrible time figuring out who they were. Hadn't seen most of them since I moved. So nice to get in touch again and get caught up.
Looking forward to getting some CW on sale. I've been saving up for them.
the bridal shower sounds like so much fun, and like you, I haven't been to a bridal shower in years! Lovely that things are now beginning to get back to normal, where people can spend time together, so great.....Your HA is sooooo cute!! ❤ .......Yes 25% off CW's is a huge discount. Not sure if I'm after anything, but I'll have fun looking!! .....Also the CW pawn shop. :)
