I joined this site ages ago but haven't touched it much since, I think I even took a three-year hiatus at one point because I straight up forgot I had an account...
I've been popping in every so often to check on my pets and do dailies but besides that I have not been doing too much here. I don't even know where to start! There's stuff I apparently need map pieces to unlock, there's special currency I don't know how or when to cash in (like these Subeautique coupons I somehow ended up with) and don't even get me started on the battle coliseum...and I haven't really touched my pets beyond training them and collecting their job income. No descriptions or stories or nothin'...
Man I wish there was a more comprehensive newbie guide than the one on the wiki because it's all so overwhelming and I really don't know what to focus on or put my effort into besides what I've already been doing. Which compared to the breadth of what is available doesn't feel like much...
So yeah...if anyone could point me to some guides for mostly-but-not-total newbies that would be much appreciated.
EDIT: I also seem to be afflicted by a bug where my avatar's skin is straight up invisible and I can't fix it, but there's no bug report forum for the wardrobe about it.
Hey, friendly reminder to drink water, stretch your back and neck, and take a short break if you can. Stay healthy! Oh, and don't forget about any projects or chores you might be putting off.
Haha yeah it's all a bit crazy, hey? I've only been here two weeks but I'm slowly getting to feel my way around the place. I haven't come across any newbie guides yet (other than the very useful forum post about stuff to do) but as long as I take things slowly things seem to fall into place. I'll admit though, I still haven't been brave enough to try the battle coliseum.
Subeautique The Subeautique invites aren't so much a currency as they are entry tickets. Each one gives you the right to purchase an item from the Subeautique. The store items themselves actually cost sP, but if you don't have any invitations, you can't buy anything. You can cash the invites in by clicking on them in your inventory and choosing "redeem invitation" or if you navigate to your currency vault there's a section under "Subeautique" that lets you redeem all your invitations at once. It works the same for the Wizard Tokens, btw. Don't make my mistake and spend ages clicking each one in your inventory, lol.
Map Pieces The map pieces thing confused me at first as well, especially because I ended up collecting the wrong map, lol. What you need is the Uncharted Land Map. There are nine pieces and each is fairly affordable through the usual shop search. Just seach for "Uncharted Land Map Piece 1" (or whichever number piece you need) and once you have all nine you can navigate to your Treasure Maps collection (it's on the Games page) and put all the pieces together. That'll give you access to the Omen Islands and Drunk Carl's quests. I reccommend doing that as soon as you can afford it because Shinya's quests can send you to any of the other questgivers and Drunk Carl is often one of them.
Quests Speaking of quests, it seems to be the best way to make money in this game. Knock them all over whenever you have time. Do Shinya first because she'll send you to the other questgivers randomly, so if she sends you to someone whose quests you've already done you're SOL for the day. Sarah's quests are designed for new users or people who don't have much spare sP, so you'll always make dough from her. Sagittarius overspends like mad so his quests are always worth doing. The wizard gives you cash AND Wizard Tokens that are used at the carnival and at the Pet Zapper, so he's well worth doing if you like those things. Quentin underpays but occasionally drops amulets that can be worth a pretty penny (or traded to the Mage for other items). Major Drills is fantastic for showing you around the weird little parts of the site that you might miss - certain games you might want to try, or little dailies you'd never heard of before. I'd highly recommend doing his quests to get a feel for a few things around the site.
General advice For now, just focus on the things that sound fun. Make some cash off the quests and learn about which stores sell what in the process. Have a go at battling and see if that's your thing. Make a pet to experiment on and go mad at the zapper. As you mess around you'll work out how it all works, and if something really stumps you you can always post in the Help forum!
Welcome back! If you haven't already make sure you swing by Personal > Dashboard as you may have some loyalty boxes waiting for you c:
Do you have a picture of what you mean by skin disappearing? In case you aren't aware, you can 'layer' the order which items appear on your outfit. If you have a backdrop which covers the full canvas, you have to make sure the 'base' layer is higher on the list than the background, to ensure your 'skin' shows. This is as sometimes people don't want the 'human' avatar present in an outfit, for example if they have a cute animal wearable and they just want to showcase that c:
Hope that helps!

Thank you for the tips! I definitely do Shinwa's quests first now, I tried to do one after I had done the rest of my quests and she immediately sent me to someone I had maxed out...ah well, live and learn.
I checked my profile and I had five loyalty boxes waiting for me! Shows you how often I check that lmao. I've only used the book totem so far, I'm saving the others for the right opportunity. I'll bookmark those links for further use. Thanks so much!

welcome :D
Sameeeee to pretty much everything you said, but with the "no skin on your avatar" problem, I had that too! I posted in the avatar forum and an admin went in and "applied" it somehow. I then saved it as an outfit because I accidentally hit clear and it disappeared again, so I'd suggest doing the same.
