Just to answer your pumpkin question real quick -- you can add carved pumpkins to your pumpkin collection (having pumpkins in your collection earns you achievements, and a complete collection earns you another achievement), carving pumpkins can earn you achievements, feeding your pet carved pumpkins can earn you achievements, finding the pumpkins can earn you achievements, deleting pumpkins (1 at a time by hand, not quickstock delete) earns you achievements, and donating uncarved pumpkins to Fantine during the Fireside holiday also earns you achievements (plus she will sometimes gift you items in return, if memory serves -- sorry, I haven't finished my coffee yet so my brain is still firing up for the day).

SO MANY ACHIEVEMENTS. xD There's always stuff to work towards and keep things interesting. :)
