It's more of chill site compared to what I heard about it a few years back.... or am I maybe thinking of gaia online or marapets? 🤷‍♀️ It's drama that been dead for the past 10 years, but I personally find it still engaging compared to most petsites that are dead af without flash. Finding my way pretty easily compared to others, and it just feels easier to get subeta points? I'm waiting for a bit to see if it's worth putting real money into this social experiment, but hey! So far so good!☺️ Also, the tongue in cheek dark humor this site has appeals to me. :P

As someone who also plays Flight Rising, I enjoy it. I tend to breed and battle. The only time I tend to go on the forums there is to lend out one of my nests.

Honestly, I haven't left, yet, either. But I've been spending very little time on Neo since I started an account here. I love my pets there, though, and I'm having a difficult time letting them go. Oh, that's neat! I'm glad you've been enjoying it more lately. I only heard about Subeta a few weeks ago on Reddit, when there was a discussion regarding a mass exodus from Neo. With the way things have been going, I thought it was probably best to explore other options.

I wasn't aware there was drama regarding this site, but I've heard loads about Gaia Online and Marapets (more negative stuff about mara, to be honest). I figured I would just NOT with those two. XD

This site is pretty engaging compared to Neo (in terms of stuff to do, anyway). I think I'll probably be staying. And, yes, the humor here is A+. Really enjoying the fact that we can have discussions in the forums, too, and say the name of particular fruits and the titles of particular relatives and words that happen to have other words in them somewhere (though I can almost never find what gets my posts blocked on Neo).

Alright, between you two and my other friend, I think I'm going to have to give this a go. Do I need more digital pet sites in my life? ... Probably. Also dragons.

oh yeah, I've been hearing about said exodus a bit on tumblr's neotag, too! Oof. I wish it wasn't so hard for me to leave. I think since I had purchased quite a lot of NC and even paid for premium for some time (ofc I stopped since this whole mess started), I'd feel guilty about just having to let it all go, y'know?

I came from Neopets as well. Played as a kid, went on a hiatus, came back as an adult, and came to Subeta once I realized that it's a dumpster fire over there 😅

They are making some effort to try to keep people, which I'll give them credit for. But with said effort having been mostly teasing things that will be released at some point, maybe, date undisclosed, I don't have very high hopes. I wish it was easier to walk away, too. When you've been on a site for nineteen years, though, it's really sort of difficult to imagine. Yeah, I definitely know that feeling. That's also part of why I haven't left. Putting actual money into something makes it somewhat more difficult to walk away. Plus I really like everything I purchased, so I'm inclined to at least try to ride this out.

I signed up for Flight Rising and I am addicted. Why? Couldn't say. Possibly because dragons. Possibly because it I can collect a lot of pets. Either way, I've been there for three days and have nine dragons and bad impulse control. Thanks for the recommendation. XD

If it wasn't for the fact that I'm wary of sinking money into online sites, fearing of addiction ya know but I wasn't nuts with NC back on neo, so maybe it's okay to splurge an extra slot for your dragons. I know I'm tired of running out of space for my hatchlings! 😂

I know just how you feel.... but in a way, I also think it's kinda closure for me since I met my first gf on neopets, and while I never got to say goodbye when she ghosted me over and again, it's kinda comforting to finally close this chapter for me and finally realize there was nothing really keeping me there. I don't think I'll ever get the courage to fully delete my account though

There are so many dragons on the site that it's really hard at first to control that impulse control XD

Oh, I would be thrilled if the JN staff took over. Not counting on that at all, but it would be amazing. The birthday event was pretty good this year, though. I was pleasantly surprised.

I also come from Neo (+20 yr) and at this point I only play neo to keep my account active and alive after all this time. Subeta has much more depth than neo I feel and keeps the site entertaining. I had such a hard time figuring out what pet I wanted when I started because there are so many pet/color combos that are actually thought out VS neo now and days.

no kidding, I almost felt kinda overwhelmed when I was looking at the creation center. :P So I just remade the majority of my pets from neo!

Yeah, that's pretty much what I've been doing there. I miss the days when that site had stuff to do. No kidding. It's so difficult to choose. I'm going to wind up buying more pet slots here, I can tell. XD

Ha! That is actually a really great idea because I have so many storylines from neopets that I made YEARS ago with art. It would save me so much time in the long run.

I love how often the events occur around here! I've only recently joined but feel if I ever think it's starting to become "boring" it easily picks back up with a major site event. Ha! Thank goodness you can buy at least a few more pet slots with large amounts of SP which makes me even more inclined to spend real money because it doesn't feel forced to spend USD and I know it helps the site.

Yes, it's great! You know, that not feeling forced to pay out money really makes all the difference in regards to whether or not I want to. Neo always makes it feel like they're only putting effort into NC stuff and it's annoying. Like, the rest of the site does still exist ...
