My main battler hit T9 a few days ago but I've still been using my T8 set and just doing BQ's since, and now I'm like scrambling to decide what to buy for T9 together with wondering how far into Moro challengers I'll have a chance to get.... waaaah it's starting so soon! Haha! xD

- If you can get your hands on one, The Gelatin Slayer is a solid T9 weapon that is also useful against a lot of morostide challengers with it's dark block. If you haven't already done so, I would also get the components to make the Intricate Energized Helmet, 100% freezer that also comes with a two turn anti-freezing blessing, makes it much easier to set up chain freezes. The Sebastian Phoenix and Calvin Blackmoon swords in the battle shop seem marginally useful, but otherwise, not much else jumps out to me as particularly useful for T9, your T8 set is probably just fine. (especially if you are using scaling weapons, like Prodigy Staff or Blessed Trident)

Nachos Secret Stuff Tier: 9 Nice bomb/heal and it often actives a curse that allows only 1 weapon for a turn. I use it for speed grinding with bigger pets too. https://www.subetalodge.us/list_all/rhigh/999/excludeub/true/name/Secret+stuff

Amulet of Neutrality Tier: 9 Has a chance to block all for more than one turn. Probably costs way more than it's usefulness though. Not part of standard set but situationally good.

I think those are the only things that standout as switch in for Tier 9 upgrades to my sets. Depends on what your Tier 8 set is like I guess.

I actually ignored T9 upgrade-wise when I was first there, apart from working on the freeze helmet The only weapons that would have been good upgrades were from the Gelly war, so I just saved for the T10 Ornamented Hook Swords, though I already had the Soma Tablets then, which I'd consider more 'valuable' than the Swords

- Yeah, the prodigy staff would be a good sub in for the maliss cannon, get some extra heal in. The Nacho's Stuff would be a pretty good upgrade to the item hunter bomb. Scientist Specs are a decent freezer, with some stat buffs, so it's a good sub for the helmet, but the helmet is really great for opponents who like to freeze you a lot.

Unfortunately, once you get to T9 and beyond, your best weapon options start getting quite pricey. Might be a good idea to WL a few things and start saving/checking often to see if something comes up in SS for cheaper.

I'm new to Subeta, can someone explain what the battle portion of the Morostide event is normally like? :) I'm excited to try it out and have been trying to speed train my pet.

Your pet has great stats for how young they are.

There’ll be event specific challengers and loot available. That’s about the jist of it honestly. They may change it up this year, they’ve been pretty friendly with battling so I wouldn’t be surprised to see something new or different.

At some point within the next few days, new challengers will go live in the "Event" tab on the "Challenge an Opponent" page. There are always a wide range of difficulties available, so you should be able to take a down at least a couple of them, even with a small pet! There are achievements for some opponents, and they will drop loot for you to win, but there's no scorekeeping or additional prizes based on total wins or anything like that. Some opponents may drop additional loot past 10 wins, but we won't know for sure until they get released.

If you want a preview of the opponents coming, you can check this forum post! Just note that their loot may change (or there may even be new opponents!)

That said, Amber and the BAs (battle admins) could surprise us with something different!
