Forest goddess!

Here's the goddess of winter! :) HA Contestby trisaratops

by Elysium Legend says that in a remote bamboo forest, there waits a pond, a stone, and a scattering of animal bones. Once, there was a temple and devoted monks, who offered sacrifice in return for their prosperity hunting alongside the merfolk tribes, until times grew hard in the wars of the distant days. But the gods of a place are often embodied by their domain, and they grow and shrink with the times, and with proper tribute harder to come by, the monks gave themselves one by one until the very last few were eaten alive by their own goddess.

Some say that if you can find this remote forest again, and offer tribute, you may unearth this slumbering one, who was known as the Lady Shirahoshi. Some say her dream-fish still swim above the surface, iridescent and beautiful, on nights of a full moon. But I, for one, would stay far, far away, and let sleeping gods and goddesses lay.
