Hey, guys. Sorry it has been months since I have been on. I went through a terrible breakup in September and my anxiety and depression was awful. I am finally feeling better now though and getting back to be who I am.

I have been having fun doing some self discovery too.

Aw hun. hugs I’m so sorry you went through such a rough time. Anxiety is the worst and I’m sure it doesn’t help at all when you’re feeling so sad. I’m glad you’re doing better now though and you know, at least you’re learning something from it all, right? I’m doing alright. Still got some stressful stuff going on here and there but hey my sister had a complete response to her chemo for breast cancer so things are looking up in her journey to kick its butt!

I’m looking forward to being able to see my sister like that too. 🙂 I feel like we’re definitely on that road now. She’s still got some stuff to go through and at least one more surgery but I feel better about things now for sure.

I’m ready to burn stuff up lol. I want that autumn site theme that I don’t have!

I’m sure it is lol. It’s the only theme I don’t have yet. I unlocked the Morostide and luminaire ones a long time ago. I still have the Morostide one on actually because the coloring fits better than the other ones for fall. I’ll probably change to the Lumi one after thanksgiving unless I manage to unlock the autumn one before that.

I hope you find something you really like to do before then! I need to start saving money. I've been so bad recently. Ugh it stresses me out lol.

All of these places keep saying that can't find people to work 0_0 well here I am!! Just give me a break dangitt! It is hard to fill out applications because they don't allow me to tell them why I haven't worked in a few years. I don't get a chance to tell them that I had to take time off to homeschool my daughter because her special needs were not being taken care of in regular school. They just see a big break in my employment. It is very frustrating! Same! I had a little nest egg building and then "poof" it was all gone 0_0 things have been getting so expensive lately sigh

I know you didn't ask a random stranger for advice, but as someone who just recently put out a batch of 40 resumes and got interviews for 80% (and also someone who taught undergrads how to write resumes at a major uni too but... I digress), I have some advice. 😆

Whenever possible, use a resume instead of an application. Even if this means leaving the "application" portion incomplete and uploading your resume in the appropriate place. You have much more control over that.

Next, use ANY "Professional Experience" that is relevant to the job posting. Volunteer work, school projects that work with real companies, that one time you helped mum's boss with her PC... whatever. Anything that you can tailor to the job posting. List three if you have them with 2+ bullet points for each one with keywords from the job description.

Start with a list of strengths (i.e. great with people, 1 year experience with XYZ, proficient with MS Office, etc). If your resume is light in other areas, use more strengths. Then "prof experiences", then anything extra you can think of that could help... volunteer work, other misc projects, whatever you think might help. End with education if you have degrees or certifications or whatever.

If you want, I'd be happy to help, give you a few examples of MY resumes... whatever.

The great thing about doing this is that gaps in the resume are expected, since it isn't a FULL ass resume with everything you ever did. You know? So I might use one job that ended in 2013, a 3-month project from 2016, and a job from 2018. No one assumes I haven't worked since then because I label it as "Relevant Professional Experience" rather than a job history. Does that make sense?
