Sorry I've been MIA for the past couple of months. I've been dealing with some personal stuff and a stressful situation at work so I've been seriously slacking in my hobbies. How is everyone?!

I just got back from a cookout at a friend's house. Had a great time but wanted to get home before dark in case any neighbors are doing fireworks. My little girl Starlight doesn't like loud noises. Yesterday our town did their fireworks at the fairground which is a mile away and you could hear and see the fireworks.

I'm in Canada but our church is celebrating the fact that we can gather inside and don't have to wear masks. Every Sunday this month there is going to be a block party in a different neighborhood. Today it was in the park across the street from where I live. It was well attended and really nice. Lots of young families with cute little kids to watch.

I'm sorry your kitty gets scared by those loud fireworks. We had a dog that didn't like being in the house but at the sound of fireworks, he would ask to come in and hide under a bed until they quit. Really hurts animals ears, poor things.

I forgot to answer your question about the quest a thon. I have been doing a few of them. When I stay in front of the computer too long, my eyes bother me and I have to rest them. I have cataracts and glaucoma, so I need to take it easy on my eyes.

- I love a barbeque! What a lovely way to spend the day. Yes of course I'd be home too for my pets if they were spooked by the firewooks.

Hahaaa 2 or 3 a day is better than me! I will sometimes do the weekend quests and if I'm in the mood, Sagittarius and Wizard.

The park across the street sounds like a very handy spot for one of the parties! (not really sure what a block party is though). Lucky you're able to meet your church friends without having to wear a mask (especially as the weather is getting warmer).

Those are exactly the quests I do . What? You don't know what a block party is? I bet you have 'em but they are much wilder, more fun and just called something else. It's a gathering of everyone one in your neighborhood that wants to come, especially new comers. They are held at someone's back yard and flyers are handed out announcing it. You can bring a dish to pass or just come. There is a bar-b-q and games for the kids and sometimes a bouncy castle for them. They had a huge one across the street. Or it can be in a neighborhood park then there is games for the adults too. :)

It is great to be able to get together again . I'm just so blessed that I live in a residence where I had people for company when ever I wanted it even if we do wear masks still in the building and are suppose to stay 6 ft. apart. This should be changing too I hope.

- I'm sorry, I didn't know you had eye problems. Are you able to have surgery for those conditions at some point? Yes, I imagine that looking at a bright light on a computer screen would really hurt your eyes and make you feel tired.

- no I don't believe we have block parties (at least not where I live). The closest thing we have would be a street party, usually an annual Christmas season event where neighbours in the street sit outside and have a drink (wine etc). Nothing as exciting as hiring jumping castles for the children!! The block party sounds lovely and social and very welcoming to new people in the area.

My cararacts aren't bad enough for surgery, which is a good thing. I used latanaprost for the glaucoma, to keep the pressure down. I have to go to the opthamologist every 4 months.

We had block parties in the Bronx, which is where I am originally from. Ours were eating all kinds of food, music and dancing. Here in Ohio where I live now, they don't have block parties. The big thing here is yard/garage sales.
