Hello !

Six months ago, we released the new Custom Wearable system! It's been a really wild ride, from the months of planning, writing, and coding, to the over 6,000 accepted CWs that have been added since the system relaunch. I've been so excited and happy to be a part of it, and every day you guys make me happy I came back to my job here at Subeta to work with you!

Now that we've reached the 6-month mark, I wanted to check in and see how everything is going -- so I've made a little survey I'd love for you to fill out! Leaving your user name is completely optional, and you do not need to be logged into Google or anything like that to complete the survey. I'll leave it up until next Wednesday, June 23rd. Please take this opportunity to share your feedback and help us decide what CW project we will work on next!

Thank you to all of you who took the time to fill out the survey! I've compiled all the data, and I wanted to share it with you as well as go over a few things and I are planning based off the results :)

All results below, comments/info below spoiler tag! I find the new submissions system much easier than the previous system Strongly Agree: 67% Agree: 23% Neutral: 2% Strongly Disagree: 2% Other: 6%

I think the new pricing on custom wearables is fair Strongly Agree: 58% Agree: 32% Neutral: 6% Disagree: 2% Strongly Disagree: 2%

I enjoy not having to worry about filling batches Strongly Agree: 86% Agree: 8% Neutral: 4% Disagree: 2%

There is a good variety of categories for me to pick from for my items Strongly Agree: 57% Agree: 33% Neutral: 6% Disagree: 2% Other: 2%

Having the custom wearable queue on a schedule is: (Note: This one was multiple choice so the percentages do not add up to 100%. It is just the percentage of people that answered each choice) Convenient: 60% Slow: 2% Well balanced: 58% Frustrating: 0% Other: 17%

If you could add one additional category, what would it be and why? Top three requests: : Purses : Sleeves : Skins (Note: A few people suggested new wardrobe layers, rather than new CW categories! These are great as well and I’m passing them along to the appropriate people, but I’m focusing on CWs here)

If you could pick one new feature to be added to custom wearables, what would it be and why? Top three requests: : Ability to upload multiple skintones : Categories for the warehouse ) Search filter updates

Thanks to the results of the survey, we've been able to make some plans for the future.

NEW FEATURES TO COME: . An easier, and cheaper way to submit things with multiple skintones! This is the first new area Bug and I will be concentrating on. I do not have an exact ETA, because it is going to require some new coding. Once it's implemented, you'll be able to add multiple skintones to one custom wearable submission for a very reduced price. Just a few things I did want to clarify about this as we work to implement it: • This will be for SKINTONES ONLY. It will not be for submitting multiple recolors of the clothing itself. The clothing will need to remain 100% the same with only the skintones changing • We will not be offering any refunds on custom wearables currently submitted as multiple submissions with different skintones. If you choose to keep submitting them as-is currently, you are doing so knowing we will not be refunding the difference (similar to submitting items prior to the CW revamp)

: Categories in the warehouse This one is a bit harder. As of right now, your shop categories do appear in the warehouse, so you do have this limited organization at this time - but we certainly understand the want for something else! We are currently brainstorming ways to make this happen and are bouncing many ideas off of each other. We do hope to have something in the not-too-distant future to help with this!

: More search options (including searching by warehoused/capped, wishlist, etc) This is definitely on our to-do list!

-- Additional categories: Note: A few people suggested new wardrobe layers, rather than new CW categories! These are great as well and I’m passing them along to the appropriate people, but I’m focusing on CWs here!

The three most requested categories were purses, sleeves, and skins. The good news is, it's pretty darn easy for me to add more submission categories! I hope to have these up within the next week - if not later today, then Sunday :)

FINALLY! As one quick note, I wanted to talk about the custom wearable schedule. Most of the responses on it were quite positive, which is wonderful, but there were a couple of responses talking about the long wait if you submit something after I've already done the queue, or how sometimes the schedule has to change; there was also a suggestion that not having any schedule at all is better than having a schedule that cannot be stuck to.

In the spirit of transparency, I did want to address this. I've been trying not to interrupt the schedule too often. I definitely have priorities over my work on Subeta: my full time job at the clinic, medical/other appointments, and my own personal health. I'm pretty sure I've announced every time I've had to shift the schedule. The thing that I really want to stress is: I cannot let myself get burned out. I did custom wearables for many years and ended up quitting in September '19 for a year or so. It's because I was just burnt out. I felt like I had to come home from working 12+ hours and then work again because people expected the queue to be done every day (or every other day). It was making me feel resentful of not just custom wearables, but of Subeta in general. In fact, that near-year I was gone, I didn't even play Subeta for fun much. I just took a long break.

When I was invited back, making a schedule was the very first thing I knew I had to do. It has been life-changing for me and working here! I don't feel that burnout. Not even when there are 100+ items in there for me to go through. I find doing the queue and answering tickets and chatting on the forums enjoyable again. In order for me to keep doing what I'm doing, I need to make sure I keep Subeta in balance with the rest of my life! I hope this helps you understand :)

Again, thanks so much for taking the time to fill out the survey! It provided great feedback for and I, and we have exciting things in the works!

HELLO AGAIN!! Two things:

  1. I'm adding some new categories today (i'll post about them in CW announcements when they're done)

  2. More importantly, WE NEED YOUR OPINION!! I was brainstorming with for ways to add categories to the Warehouse without necessarily having them in your shop, and we came up with an idea! We wanted to pitch it to you guys and see if you think it's a good compromise!

Right now, categories in your shop also show up in your wardrobe. The problem is, even if that category is 'empty' (like everything is warehoused), it still shows up in your shop, just empty. The compromise is: The ability to toggle categories in your shop off and on.

Basically, they would always show up in the warehouse but NOT necessarily in your shop! For example, people with seasonal items could have all their spring items just in a shop category called "Spring" and toggle it on and off in the shop, but it will always show up in the warehouse. So Summer-Winter, you have it toggled off in your shop. Then Spring comes again, and you just toggle it back on, and bam! Your seasonal items are all in one nice place and back in your shop!

Thoughts?
