Lets see if I can remember how to do this.. Thank you so much for the birthday wishes, you guys, I've ignored my age since turning 42 because I prefer to remain the age aligned with the answer to everything but that don't mean we don't party, lol, today was fun, tomorrow it'll be back to reality still basking in the warmth of a sugar coma
There's something else I've been trying to find a way to say to y'all. Today is hard for several of us, personally I miss my birthday twin terribly and being here reminds me of he-whos-name-i-never-speak. And that's the thing. I'm the one who keeps myself away.
People change. I've changed. I don't talk much, I don't reach out. On the flip side, I still get distracted by leaves blowing in the wind, still spend as much time with the fam as possible, still walk in the deep woods, still refuse to wear shoes. Some memories hurt but most are of great times together.
The other day someone reminded me that when life overwhelms the lair, my lair, is a place that they seek out because it's steady course never falters. Lauries lair was built on the solid shoulders of true friends.
This place is one thing that has not changed even if I have. It's on me to get beyond the negative and remember exactly what Laurie's Lair is all about. I'd forgotten just how close we'd become over the years, and I can never thank you guys enough for keeping the lair (pretty much) intact, steady and safe.
