OKAY!!! I think this is fixed, and should be fixed for items being added to shops.
The technical reason: We updated all of the text rows on the site to use an upgraded text format (from the old school utf4 to "new" utf8 which allows things like emojis) and for some very specific fields it set it to default to a different value expected - NULL instead of EMPTY (there is a big difference, of course 🙃)
