That's one way to look at it! lol Probably the best benefit for me has been that I've been able to bond with all my familiars so much faster than if I only had a few dragons.
I love the new fams and items! Unfortunately, I already did all my dailies right after rollover so I missed out on a day of gathering the collectibles. =( I wish they would start events when the new day starts instead of always a few hours later. I've been battling a bit again lately to try to get the new fams from the Woodland Path (although I've had much better luck just buying the darn things from the marketplace; RNG is not my friend). So now I'm getting burned out on battling again already but I guess I'm going to have to do more. I don't even really mind grindy boring activities that let me click mindlessly while I listen to a podcast or whatever but something about their battle system is rough even for me. I think it's the particular hand movements because of the way the buttons are laid out. And all the captchas ugh.
I am happy at least that they reduced agility for coli enemies. I haven't battled yet since the change but that should reduce my frustrations somewhat.
Strange that they didn't put up this button which says "Oh wait! There is this event coming up!" like they do it with the festivals. I missed out due to this, too. And I hate battling with a passion, LOL, so boring, like questing.... :-)

Yeah, that warning is nice, wish we would have gotten it for this. I kind of enjoy questing and battling on here because it's easy to get into a rhythm and it gives my hands something to do while my attention is on something else, otherwise I get fidgety and distracted. Coli on FR doesn't go so smoothly though; between the constant annoying captchas that make me hunt around for a tiny camouflaged dragon and the way the action menus work (the loading times don't quite keep up with my clicking so I often misclick and end up in the potion menu when I want attacks or back on the main menu when I want to keep going), it requires just enough attention to take me out of whatever I'm trying to listen to or watch but is still such a dull activity it doesn't actually occupy my mind. It's just the worst, it needs a complete overhaul, a better UI and different mechanics that don't just rely on "haha the enemy dodged, try again, do even more extra clicks!" to make it "challenging". Especially since it's like the only actual activity on the whole site and everything is built around it. Oh, and then the thing that grinds my gears the most: when you complete a battle and don't even get a single reward! Not even XP because my battlers are fully trained. I hate that so much, what a waste of time!
Ah, I needed that rant, I feel a little better now. lol
I totally get it! My wrists are hurting after one hour of grinding which I only would do during festivals and then are frustrated because even after one hour or more, no chest fell!

Yep, the drop rates are horrendous for everything too. I hardly ever get chests; I don't even think about trying, I just buy a copy of each skin from the store when the festivals start. It's been forever since I found an egg through battling.
Yesterday, I battled for several hours off and on (enough to earn the needed currency to buy all the new WW stuff) and stalked the marketplace at the same time. I ended up getting almost all of the new Woodland Path fams from the shop while hardly any dropped from the coli (mostly old fams). The only thing I got that was remotely interesting from all that battling was an Aberration Flecks gene scroll...and of course that's after I already bought the one I needed from a user shop haha.
Yes, drop rates are so bad. I spend every day 5 of my turns scavenging and didn't find an egg since months - or shall I say, years? Also, besides the Noc eggs which doesn't really count, I only found Shadow eggs so far at all, none of any other area.

I always spend all my turns on scavenging during every festival and I don't remember the last time I found an egg either; it's been months. March, maybe. That's when my most recent G1 was hatched.
Speaking of gathering though, I just maxed out my XP for every type a few days ago, so that feels like a nice accomplishment. Now I just have to hunt for the rest of the hummingbirds I need to trade for the last Swipp fam I need and then I guess I can spend ALL my turns scavenging and not finding anything lol
White-Eared Hummingbirds to trade for the Black-wing Hummingbird fam
Ah, this one, I am only halfway with this one, too, 175 is a lot......

I know right, it doesn't seem like that many though. I have much bigger stacks of lots of items, but not those. They even drop in the coli in addition to gathering...I tried battling for them but of course the drop rate was abysmal and I didn't want to stay in that venue forever.
White-Eared Hummingbirds (not the fam) drop from Emerald Webwings in the Training Fields. It's a "scarce" drop according to the game database and not a very exciting venue to be stuck in forever...
Oh, that's right - I'll try next festival to get some more then, LOL

Good luck! I find gathering for them a lot faster but if you're going to battle anyway, you might get a few!
And in which venue do we have to gather for them?

Hunting in Plague, Wind or Fire. Cute HA btw, that's an adorable little kitty!
Ah, thank you for letting me know! ^-^ And thank you so much for the HA compliment, too, love yours also! I am really bored at the moment, so hot here and you can't do anything where you have to lift more than a finger, LOL, so HA designing is just the thing to do.

No problem! I've actually had really good luck the last couple of days with getting the birds from gathering and I've almost got enough now. Then we'll see how long I have to wait for Swipp to offer the trade again... Thank you! Yeah that sounds like a good time to play in the wardrobe lol
