That's weird with it being your left eye and left ear that are worst! Hopefully the lenses you need don't end up being too expensive though, as glasses can be a pretty pricey thing over here!

when I was a child, I had optician appointments every 6 months, and most of the time I had to have new lenses (although they let me keep the same frames for longer ;)) I didn't go to the optician for about 9 years as an adult, but they've now got me on annual checkups, so if the prescription changes, then I'd need new lenses again. I try to keep the same frames for one new lot of lenses, but most opticians don't like reusing frames after that, as opening them up to replace the lenses can weaken the frame itself :K I do also keep one pair of old glasses (with current lenses) just as a spare, as if the lens falls out (like it's done on these before), I need some glasses I can still wear!

I did not get glasses until I was a teen for some reason. I am glad they kept up with it for you and made sure it was cared for. I remember seeing an eyedoctor, but I dont think that was that often.

I should probably do the annual checkups too, but I haven't. :P To be fair, my vision has not changed a lot over the years so it has not been a big problem. I always ended up getting new frames as well since you kinda get bored with the same old glasses after wearing them for so long. lol I have my old pair as a backup too.. I have broken frames before. :P

The worst experience I had, was getting new glasses, wearing them to school, then the teacher telling me I should get my eyes tested because I couldn't read what she'd written on the board o.O Admittedly though, they did under-prescribe my glasses until I was 16 (one optician even told me that's the best they could do, which wasn't much help to a 13 year old!) - once they gave me the strength of lenses I needed, I was much happier with what I could see!

I've never broken frames - but I guess it also depends though on what type of frames you have (apparently plastic frames can get brittle after a few years?.... unless of course my optician at that time just didn't like plastic frames :P). My lenses have gradually increased in strength each time I've had my eyes tested, but last time I went, was the first time it'd actually decreased ;)

I'll be happy to "help" further ;) actually yes he is. he's still new to it but being an elf he's agile and has picked it up well :) Its really cute :D
