How is everybody doing? I've been real busy lately, but I leave for the beach on Saturday!

Hi :-) I had a fun trip in June to Disney World! And now I'm over-my -head trying to catch up with my grad school class, lol. Wish me luck!

I love Disney World! We've already started planning a trip in 3 years, before my upcoming granddaughter turns 3. Good luck catching up on the classes!

My son-in-law and I will probably golf once and deep sea fish one day, but the rest of the time we will be relaxing on the beach. We rented a house this time with the bottom of the stairs about 10 yards from waves!

we don't have any big plans, but plan to do a few things. I'd like to kayak through Assateague Island (where they have wild horses) and also take a ride on a bi-plane. Not sure if we will - we planned these things the last few times we went but didn't do them - but it's a thought, lol.

We usually stay about a block from the beach, but our usual place wasn't available, so we're staying right on the beach this year. We're very excited! Hope you have a fun, relaxing time.

We went north to my happy place in the mountains a few weeks ago. We did over 25 miles of hiking while we were there and another 5 miles when we got back home LOL. Someday I'm gonna move up there!

The only deep sea fishing experience I had we were outrunning a storm so it was … unpleasant (and I had to throw the only fish I caught back), so hope you yours goes better!
We did get a good dinner out of it.

I don’t know if what we do is actually deep sea fishing. It’s more coastal, maybe out a half mile. Last year we caught Spanish mackerel and sea trout. We almost always do this since my son-in-law loves fishing! He caught a shark and a stingray off the beach last night, along with a few little fish. We’re probably going tomorrow since that’s the only day this week with no chance of rain.

Sounds similar to drift boat fishing that we use to do in Florida so much fun! Have a great time & I hope you catch all the things <3

I quietly spent a month in Michigan on vacation and only those who I wanted to know knew I was even there. It was so peaceful & relaxing <3 Spent some time with my Aunt & helped her do all the things while getting to know her on a whole different level. One of my best vacations yet <3 Shortly after returning home, the kids & grandbabies got here - which was one of two reasons I came back when I did.. the other is doctor appointments.. anywho, we had a blast the past few weeks with the grands, they extended their stay a few days so we could take the grands to the county fair - which takes place down the road from us. It was fun, so much smaller than what we're used to, but still a ton of fun. Everything is smaller when compared to what we were use to in Florida.. I kind of enjoy the smaller, it's not nearly as stressful for me to go places here <3

That sounds very nice .

We had a good time, though we didn't do any of the extra things that we planned to do. We went out to dinner a few nights, went to the beach every day except one, had some frozen drinks and saw the sunrise nearly every day. Very relaxing!

That's so pretty! I would have woken up early for it. Maybe not everyday, LOL.

Thanks , we did have a great time! Our house ended up being about 40 yards away from the water but it was still awesome! We got in golf on Thursday and fishing on Friday, before we came home yesterday. We caught 26 fish, including 4 flounder, which I love to eat but have never caught before. We were never up early enough to see the sunrise but we did enjoy the sunsets as much as possible. Dauphin Island runs east to west so we saw a couple miles of houses when we looked west. Our balcony faced south, towards the gulf.

We finally bit the bullet and bought a portable AC unit yesterday. Without it, the apartment gets up to 85 degrees. Now it's much nicer. I'm gonna cringe when the electric bill comes in!

How is everyone doing as our summer winds down? ❤ I'm still working on the grad school stuff. Began a new semester August 1st, research techniques blech. Work school starts next week for teachers and the week after for students. Where did summer go?! I have a new goal for myself (hoping I can keep it going) of waking up 30 minutes earlier than usual to workout for 25 minutes before getting going with the rest of my day. It sounds really ambitious when I type it out, lol. Wish me luck :-) Love you all!

Good luck with the workouts and with school! I've been walking/jogging every day this summer. I hope I can keep it going during the school year. We start back with meetings on Monday and with students on the 22nd.
It's been a real weird summer for me. I never want summer to end, but I can't wait until September 19 for when my granddaughter is due!
