Thank you ! It was a memorable one for sure! I'm recovering from a 'mild' case of COVID that started Friday night, but at least I think the worse is behind me and I felt better yesterday for my birthday and today is better other than the cough. And as an extra bonus early birthday, we got a dusting of snow on Sunday so yay! I at least got to watch it even though I couldn't go out in it.
I hope everyone else is doing well and staying safe. Hugs to all!
Congratulations! Kalvaxus is now working as a Getaway Driver
Hee the Criminal job tier is kind of fun.
Glad youβre feeling better Paige! While Iβm glad to get to work from home for safety reasons, Iβm also climbing the walls a bit at the lack of outside interaction.
Your HA is hysterical, Paige!
That's awesome! If I get time, I really need to get all my pets jobs. They need to earn us some sP. BTW, what a lovely border you have there :-)
Happy birthday!! Your HA looks comfy amazing :)
I didn't even realize that was a job! Too funny!
The new semester started this week. Gonna be a fun one!
So crime really does pay!
I'm watching the Criminal job listings just in case something ever beats SAI! I currently have 26 directors with 2 more pets that are close.
Hee yours too! I feel like our HAs could be meeting in the snow (Wizard of Oz voice: βAre you a good witch or a bad witch?β)
Crime doesnβt pay much! At least not yet. So far itβs only required strength and intelligence though. I had an SAI pet, but since sheβs my storm/sea pet I switched her to being a ship captain (because Iβm a nerd like that) Definitely not as lucrative! I just enjoy some of the job titles. Itβs crazy to me there isnβt a banking tier for my piggy bank pet to join! Thereβs so many wild career paths!
- A solitary, golden portal standing in a clearing, it seemed very strange indeed. I travelled this way each morning but I had not seen it before. Perhaps because the frame was so fine and delicate. A gentle breeze should have toppled it to the snow, or floated it up into a tree. As I approached the frame was just that, a frame, but as I came around the far side the view was different, darker. It took my breath away when I saw another person looking back at me. Where was this person just a moment ago?
I seriously doubt they will create a job that pays more than SAI, but I guess we'll have to wait and see!
[edit] You got a forum point while making a post! Check out the shop here!
Now that's something I haven't seen in a very long time! Maybe I should start doing the forum games again. I'm behind on points!
I can never remember to collect the funds from my pets jobs.. I need to get better at that...
The artic blast is crushing temps this weekend.. woke up to single digits.. but there's a dusting of snow on the ground - it's absolutely beautiful here <3 I am so glad we decided on leaving FL - and house update!! 3 full price offers on the house, we accepted one and have 2 backups... I am shook they are willing to wait the next 30 ish (give or take) days for a closing to happen - we did agree to allow them to pull their offer at any point & for any reason. We also had two cash offers than we passed on, one was less than asking by more than we were willing to go, and the vibe from the other was just not it.
I'm just glad that once closing happens our goal of being 100% debt free here will happen and that includes the kitchen remodel I'll be doing - nothing excessive, just replacing the countertops, adding in a few more cabinets and an island, and then replacing the dishwasher (as well as relocating it), and replacing the stove (the current one is such low quality that anytime you touch the glass top it scratches.. plus I really enjoyed the dual zone oven we had before. I'll be adding in a farmhouse style sink, new faucet hardware, and a pot filler too.. at the end of the day, the most costly will be the countertops.. but there are so many quartz & granite options here that I love.. nothing like FL where no matter how many stone places we visited, they all offered the exact same colors - yellows/oranges/browns/black - like there are so many other colors out there.. anywho, I've already narrowed in on my two favorites and they're both quartz - which is actually better in the long run than the granite I was eyeing and takes far less maintenance too - win win!
Moving was the best decision ever!! It's so peaceful and relaxing here that you have no choice but to slow down, like 90% of the mom & pop shops/stores/businesses all close their doors by 4 pm (we're central time here so it'd be 5 pm est) most don't open until anywhere from 9 am to 11 am either.. the whole vibe is laid back and I am here for it! The post office closest to us is open from 1-3 pm.. granted there are three other options that are close enough, that are open from 10-4, but I get a kick out of the short hours at the one location. <3 Winter has been interesting - crazy storms, temps all over the place, snow & ice & tornadoes oh my! So far none of it has bothered my back nearly as much as I or my doctors were expecting, can't wait to see how the mountain looks in the spring & summer.. we got here so late in the fall, that I also can't wait to see what it looks like during it's peak color changing..
Hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend <3 I have a couple things to wrap up online and then I'm off to get a few things done around the house (outside) while the temps are warmer (currently sitting at 24 - but it's better than the 9 I woke up to!)
Life is better when you're laughing <3
My paternal grandfather (90+ years) passed away today. We had a special event for my father today, and my grandfather had been invited to come. But we didn't see him there.....
Turns out he had gotten dressed and was waiting for someone to pick him up to bring him to the event. The police found him sitting in a chair waiting..... :'(
I wanted him to be at my wedding....
I'm going to make a tribute pet for him once I get a new slot......

I'm so sorry for your loss hugs It's really special he lived to be over 90! You have lots of memories of him, I'm sure, and just hang onto those. It's sweet to make a tribute for him :)

I'm so sorry for your loss. I hope you can find some measure of comfort with your family during this difficult time. hugs
I'm really worried about how my aunt and cousin will react. They went to another state very recently....
I'm sure they'll come back down for the funeral if possible.

I hope they do. hugs
I'm so sorry for your loss hugs <3
I bet they will come down, but the question is will they be able to attend a viewing of my grandfather's body with the recent COVID surges....
I was concerned when my family was originally planning the event in honor of my father because we'd heard about the new variant taking a toll on the human race.....
I'm glad he died peacefully at home. My mother was asking where he was. We were even considering going to pick him up ourselves; we've done so previously over the years....
If he had passed while at the event...that would have been an entire mess of its own.

the surges are bad. I had 3 students out today and 2 coworkers out as well.
that's scary.
Just found out from my parents that my grandfather was greatly missing some of his friends who had passed on recently. His wife had passed over a decade ago....

I love it! It sounds like the start of a quest! As I just got pull through with a DND session, I half feel like I need to roll Dice!
a tribute pet sounds like a wonderful way to to honor your grandfather. Itβs a lovely way to keep his memory.
