My last forum post has me here four years ago but that can't be right. I have no memory of it at least. Probably a more accurate estimation is my 11 year old profile. I have no idea whats going on anymore lol, all of my custom artwork is broken links now and I have zero friends. Am I a fool for coming back after this long? Will I ever be able to re-learn all the things? Should I sell everything and start anew? I feel so lost :p

I know how you feel! I've been away for several years (7 or even more?) and all of my old friends but one are inactive now. I only started to play again this year and I had some trouble to get into the game again. In the meanwhile it's working fine for me. I found out that priorities changed, I'm now training a pet, something I haven't bothered about before. Also I'm working on gaining more achievements. I'd say give it a try definitely. Don't start completely over. I found some useful stuff in my vault. Books and plushies that became valuable over the years for example. Also loads of mage amulets. The people here are so helpful, I'm sure you will find your place in the community soon.

Welcome back! I'd say you have the best of both worlds! You get to start fresh, as if you were a totally new player, but you have the perks of already having pets, items, and maybe a vague recollection of what the game used to be like.

It's also changed a lot in the last decade, so I'd take the time to get reacquainted with the game before making any drastic changes.

As for where to start, I'd take a look in the Welcomes & Introductions forum. The mod over there, , usually posts a quick start guide to new users to get them started.

I already just accidentally changed my unicorn(..?) into some sort of abyss-blob so I need to figure out how to avoid or encourage that sort of thing in the future. Maybe I'll start there lol

Was your pet previously a legeica or a hikei? You can look up all the color and species combinations in-site here or you can use Subetalodge's list. Subetalodge is a fan site that is very useful for things like finding items (and the price of items), choosing a minion (your pet's pet) and keeping track of things like what your pet has read or eaten.

If you'd like to change your pet into something else, elixirs will change a pet's species and potions will change a pet's color (though you'd want to check first if there's an elixir in that color, because they're usually cheaper). You can also use the zapper to zap your pet with random results or to change your pet into a yaherra or a qrykee.

I find it helpful, especially if you'd like other users to help you figure out what you want to do with them. :) (Or you could just display them on a post using the following code.)

My last pet was a Graveyard Hikei according to the link you provided. I had some nice pixel art to represent the critter that got lost to time. Thanks for all the helpful suggestions! I feel slightly more oriented

Custom overlays are a lot of fun. I have several of my own. One thing that's probably changed since your last visit is that now you can make them official, meaning they will appear all over the site. It costs 500 CSC per submission, and the link is on the pets page where you can see what the rules are.

If you prefer not to do that, you can still just have the overlay on the pet's profile with css.
