thank you! Oh yes, I've read them all, or at least all the ones by Anne McCaffrey herself. I've also read most of the Todd McCaffrey ones, but not the one by Gigi. The HA was loosely based off the "People of Pern" art book by Robin Wood.

Ninhursag, also spelled Ninhursaga, (Sumerian) Akkadian Belit-ili, in Mesopotamian religion, city goddess of Adab and of Kish in the northern herding regions; she was the goddess of the stony, rocky ground, the hursag. The Nekomata. Outfit Not Found About Nekomatas. Nekomata are found in cities and villages and are born in the same way as a normal cat. Any large cat with a long tail can become a demon after it reaches 10 years old or more (Japanese bob tail cats are immune to this). When a cat transforms into a nekomata, its tail splits down the center into two identical tails. These monster cats are most likely seen walking around on their hind legs and speaking human languages. Nekomata can shapeshift and summon fireballs, they can also control corpses like puppet-masters with necromantic magic. The nekomata can be a sweet creature, but quickly becomes a dangerous, nasty beast if mistreated in the slightest, tormenting and even killing humans who don't shower it with the attention it feels it deserves.

Arachne (Greek: “Spider”) in Greek mythology, the daughter of Idmon of Colophon in Lydia, a dyer in purple. Arachne was a weaver who acquired such skill in her art that she ventured to challenge Athena, goddess of war, handicraft, and practical reason. When Athena could find no flaws in the tapestry Arachne had woven for the contest, the goddess became enraged and beat the girl with her shuttle. After Arachne hanged herself out of shame, she was transformed into a spider.
