Hello !
The wonderful made me and the item admins a beautiful Luminaire present - an easy way to change layers on items already on site! I could cry I'm so happy about it.
That means my amazing Luminaire present gets to also become your amazing Luminaire present!
Know of a CW that is on the wrong layer? Did I accidentally accept something on the wrong layer in excitement without it being fixed first? LET ME KNOW! Because now I can fix it!

RULES FOR REPORTING WRONG LAYERS: • Please post the actual NAME of the item rather than just the item in an item tag! Having the actual name to copy and paste makes the process go 10000)% faster! • Please list ALL colors that need to be relayered. Just putting "This item and 4 other varieties" isn't helpful! • Please PING ME!! when you make a post here. Otherwise I tend to miss it! • Be patient - I work on this when I can! I am trying to make it a more regular thing, however.
A few things:
This is a great question, and I think it's going to really depend on the individual item, what it is, and what makes the most sense. I know that's a very non-committal answer, but it is just going to have to be on a case-by-case basis! We don't want to have to change the layer of like 50 items, especially if they technically both make sense and the new one is just different due to a new, simplified system.
Please do not report bug issues here. This is ONLY for layer changes. You should post [link=https://subeta.net/forums.php/read/914998/The-New-Custom-Wearable-System/]here[/link], but be sure to read the second post for how to report a bug.
All fixed :)
I fixed the shoes! However for the circlet, the new layer is actually the correct one. I won't move the old ones, but I won't be changing the new one either. Hair accessories in general - both CWs and official - belong in the head layer, so we won't be changing where those go. I'm not the person in charge of what items go on what layers :) If you want, you can always make a suggestion board about it, but that won't go through me!
(I am about to clock out for the day; please continue to report these and I'll get to them on my next work day, but please don't ping me! I'll definitely be checking in and will update you guys as things get moved!)
the categories not matching up is explained in depth in the transition guide. Please be sure to read that first! And again, this thread should be used only for later changes.
I am working on a lot of these right now and will edit this with individual pings when they're all done, HOWEVER please review this from the first page:
For right now, I'm focusing on things that are on the wrong layer. Some things are going to end up on different layers for a while, and we'll eventually tackle those, but for right now please let me know about items that are just flat out on the incorrect layer, rather than things that have a different layer between the old and new system!
[edit]
- I got all of those except the ones that are different just from old vs new system ( already knows I'm not moving their 143819 cloaks hahaha, at least not right now!)
- done!
- Those ones are actually more appropriate in the head layer so I'll be leaving them for now!
what category are the recolors in? Can you give me an example of one of those items?
I moved the newer ones to ankle because that's really where they belong!
Hm, I thought I'd already fixed that one - it is showing up in the hair layer in my layer switching tool! I redid it just in case, so let me know if it still shows up in held :)
Yeah I... didn't realize hair wasn't an option in the layer drop down in the pawn shop! I've let someone know, and I moved those two other items!
I am catching up on this post today!
All changed!
Done!
I moved the newer one to the shoulder layer because that definitely seems more appropriate. I'd honestly consider this 'scarf' sized more than the little necktie bow in the small accessories (which is what that is supposed to represent). It will still need to be moved to a new layer with future recolors, but we can just do it at that time!
- Done!
Caught up to here :)
I can do that! In the future, please put a note in your submissions so we can change it right after acceptance.
Hey guys, I'm trying to catch up on this thread a bit today - I'll ping you guys as I'm done :)
- I'm working on yours now but if you paste JUST THE NAMES I can do it! It's actually easier if I have just the item name rather than the item in the item sCode!
Thank you! I'll get to that list later - right now I'm gonna work on everything previous and it looks like that list will be a doozy to work on XD Everything from your first post is done!
Done! I never realized how hilarious the names of all those comfort sweaters are hahaha
Done~
Thank you for your list - the problem is I need the actual item names for everything. When it's just one item and then says "And three others" or something, that unfortunately isn't helpful! I need as much information as possible to help this go smoothly :) I'll work on the ones I have actual info for
Done, dear!
I'll fix those when I can but it likely won't be for the next week or two, so I do ask for patience! In the future please include thet info on new submissions so we can get them moved right after acceptance (which is a lot easier).
I'll get to those items soon too!
Honestly, this isn't the kind of job we really need to pull an additional staff member onto (and we don't have one to spare). I work on it when I can (and I'm doing some right now!) There are a lot of discrepancies with CWs because back in the day, users could pick which layer they wanted an item to be on. That was changed with the new system, but it does make for some things being in different layers. That's why on the first post, it says:
I'll edit this post as I get to some today!
[edit] the items from your January (lol :( sorry) are updated! (also Reaper - I'm editing all the posts to say (edited by - DONE!) to show that post is... well, done, so that should help with your SL upkeep! the second - your vest is fixed!
omg your list is updated!!
Ears are fixed!
That wig has been fixed! In the future, please paste the actual name of the item, not just the item in the item tag - it makes it a lot easier to fix :) (see the other posts on this page for examples!)
Sorry for two pings! The items in your post have been fixed!
