They won't. I saw something, maybe in the news post clarifying the top 100? Staff said that they won't change anything mid-QaT since that wouldn't be fair on people who may not see the changes and think they are already done.

I copied the news regarding top 100 players rules below.

Just to clear up a question we’ve gotten a few times regarding that top 100 prize:

"We expect a lot of ties. The way we’re going to be awarding this prize is each of those 100 places are their own separate thing. Say we have 4,291 users complete every single quest available. They would tie for that first slot. If 329 people missed only one quest, they’d all tie for that second spot! You could miss 100 quests over the quest-a-thon and still place within that top 100."

"We figured this was the fairest way to make sure people are awarded for their hard work! We didn’t want to make it the first 100 people to do all their quests or just give it to anyone that did every single quest and call it a day."
