damn the first two are hella tall and lmao @ buff jeff bezos
i'm excited to draw them, their designs are so creative :) i'd like to try doing the clothing patterns, though i expect they won't be quite as clean-cut as the patterns you linked and the coloring process will be longer. is that ok with you?
also to clarify, by Victoria being "seated" did you have in mind her sitting on the ground or on a chair/not on the ground? or is either fine?
Hahahaha thank you, I'm excited to see your interpretation of the characters.
That's fine with me. Just let me know how you plan to charge also so I can have the payment ready.
I can imagine her either way, cross-legged on the ground or on a chair/bench. Pick whichever pose you think fits better. My reasoning behind the pose is that Victoria's so monsterously tall that she will mess up the composition and dominate any image with her standing alongside normal height characters. Any pose is fine as long as it reduces the space she takes up on the page, so she doesn't command disproportionate visual attention.
hmm i'm thinking 2500 per character is good, considering the clothing patterns and them having interacting poses. i won't charge more if it happens to be more time-consuming/harder than i thought, but i'll let you know if i feel i'm just not doing these details full justice and will charge less (most likely base price/1500). does that sound fine??
ahaha ok cool. girl should join a basketball team
Sounds good! Thank you.
Lol Yao Ming: dragon edition

Hi
No worries, I understand life happens, take your time! Also, new HA is neat
I think A'Li is perfect. I would like changes on Xingtu and Victoria.
For Xingtu, the pose is great. 10/10 trolling memelord, love it. Only comment is I can't tell what's happening with the hand not holding the camera. Could you have them throwing a peace sign?
For Victoria:
2.) Victoria looks like a tall woman, but she doesn't look intimidating. I think this can be fixed by making her pose like a man, as in, look at her pose, and think how a man would look with the pose, and change it if a man would look weird in the same pose. Feel free to remove the chair if that makes posing her easier.
There's a quote I can no longer find about why Lucy Lawless was cast as Xena, warrior princess. Unlike a lot of other female actors, she didn't consciously carry herself in a way that makes her smaller and reduces her physicality (eg. sitting with knees together, folding in shoulders, tucking in chin.) Victoria never figured how to carry herself like a human woman because she's 1.) not human 2.) an overpowered war god, so we have to artificially reduce her physicality by making her sit. But she should still carry herself like the most powerful person in the room, manspreading and all. I sketched some sitting poses that are in character, if examples help.
3.) Finally, I like how surprised her expression is, but it's a really innocent sort of surprise right now. I would like more amusement in the expression, because Victoria's a lot more powerful and several billion years older than the fox god. Her thoughts are somewhere between, "Dude, what are you doing?" And "Holy Hell, the audacity of this kid." I included a sketch below the pose sketch for reference, though I don't quite trust my ability to draw expressions and would prefer your interpretation. I do think the wriggly eyebrows are important tho.
Edit: Also, I know I'm particular about posing here. Happy to pay more for changes.
Looks good! This feels much more in-character. Thank you for the changes!
A few more requests: 1.) Could you have Victoria's right leg dangling freely? I can't see how her foot would stay suspended in the current pose with no traction against the chair. 2.) Could you drop her right shoulder? It makes sense that her left shoulder is that high up because her arm is propped up on her knee, but her right shoulder should be a lower height since it's relaxed. (I was trying the pose and looking in the mirror for this). Sketch here. 3.) Anatomically, I think the wrist joint should be further up the arm than it currently is. (Second sketch). However, this comment may not matter. Dropping the right shoulder will probably change the hand pose since it lowers the entire arm, so her palm will be resting fully on her knee instead of just her fingers. That's just my guess though, you decide what looks better here.
Finally, this is a weird anatomy tip I've gotten before that you can feel free to ignore, I know different artists have different styles for these things. Your foot is typically the length of your forearm. I'm under the impression that Victoria should have bigger feet because of her height, but you do what feels right for you here.
Hiiiiiiiii~
I'm stunned! These look amazing, thank you for your work :D
Changes:
Would you make the A'Li paler, with more red/pink tones in his skin? I'd like his skin color to be midway between the pale-skinned Victoria and the very tan Xingtu.
Could you wash out or paint over the patterns in Victoria and A'Li's clothes? (I'm thinking a translucent white gradient and shadows over Victoria's jacket, and some wrinkles on A'Li's vest?) The patterns are beautiful, but you also draw such lovely characters, and I don't want clothes to distract from the wonderful poses/expressions/characterization.
Could you outline Xingtu and A'Li's irises? Right now, when I zoom out, it looks like A'Li is staring at Victoria's arm instead of her face because of where the iris color is concentrated.
This looks good!
If I could request one last change--now that A'Li and Victoria's colors are more subdued, I notice how Xingtu's jeans are basically the same color as the jacket, giving it an odd one-piece effect. Would you mind making the jean color more like Steve Jobs jeans? Happy to pay more since that can be a pretty dramatic change.
