Ok, so the weirdest thing happened to me today. It's getting rather warm, so this morning I opened the door to the garden, to get some fresh morning air in the house to cool it down a bit. I have this thing which you can slide in front of the door opening to keep the insects away. After a while, I suddenly see a cat outside the door. It's pawing it's way beneath the insect screen until it comes loose (it's held in place by a magnet). The cat rushes into the house before I can do anything, and I realise the cat is completely soaked. Since the couch and upholstered chairs are new and are only in the house since half of March - not even two months old, my first thought was: "Oh no, you don't!" Because the cat was indeed sitting on a chair by that point. So I try to make it leave the house again, which leads to a merry chase through the living room and kitchen until the cat settles under the couch. Leaving me to look at the dirty floor which I mopped yesterday and had been pristine before the cat entered. You have got to be kidding me. A soaked cat broke into my house. Looking into the garden, I could see a very wet trail where the cat has obviously been. There's a small stream at the end of the garden, so it probably went for an involuntary swim, climbed out of the water and saw no other way out of my garden than through the door.
Since it was quite early, I decided to wait a bit before asking the neighbours whether they knew whose cat it was. And I was secretly hoping it would just walk out the door on its own. So I left the door open. But nope, it stayed below the couch. I asked the neighbours and one came to check since they do have a black and white cat, but they concluded it wasn't theirs. It was a bit fat though, so definitely not a wild cat. When getting close, it would hiss, but I was able to touch it on the paws and its head without it trying to bite or scratch.
In the mean time, a friend of mine who has cats of her own and is active in the online communities for lost and found animals, posted some pictures of the cat online. And soon we found someone which a chip reader who'd be willing to come and try to read its chip. It did have a chip, but the phonenumber associated with the chip didn't exist. There was an e-mail address though, so we were able to contact the owners who came to fetch it from below the couch, where it had been the last 4 hours.
What on earth moves a cat to barge into an unknown house though? It must have been pretty spooked. Usually they're pretty cautious when trying to step into unknown territory.
Well, there goes my carefully planned saturday morning. Seems like it was more of a caturday.

Sooo.... I went to pay a bill this morn afternoon. Over the phone like usual. Turns out it's not working because according to them my ID's been stolen? ??!!?? o.o"
As if I don't have enough on my mind right now as it is...
- wow! an interesting story and well told! Any marks on your new furniture? Thank goodness he had a chip or you'd have a permanent resident under your couch! :)
- what a hassle...your bank or credit union should be able to give you a checklist of what to do next...info on contacting the credit agencies and putting alerts there. Sorry that happened to you.

Yeah! In the end I was a bit sad that I couldn't keep it. Seemed like a really sweet cat. But on the other hand, I really couldn't keep it, the owners would miss it so much and I didn't have any of the facilities that a cat needs: no litter box, no food, no toys, no scratching pole. I don't have a car, so I can't just go and get a litter box, a carrier and a scratching pole. Plus the Covid pandemic is making it a little harder to just ask one of my friends whether I could borrow their car.
:O Having your ID stolen is awfull! I hope you can sort it out! I really have no clue what to do in such a case!
No marks luckily! Just some sand which I could brush off. When I went to buy the furniture, the shopkeeper asked whether I had any pets. I told him no, but I was thinking of maybe getting a cat. So he recommended faux leather for the couch instead of fabric because it doesn't pill or show claw marks so much. And I guess I was lucky - it was too busy running around (before hiding under the couch), no time for clawing at things. Yes, I wouldn't have known what to do if it hadn't had a chip. I would have had to call the local asylum or something. But they have restricted opening times due to Covid. You can bring found pets in though, but without a carrier or a car, how was I going to get this cat to the asylum? Might have had to borrow some stuff from the neighbours.

Maybe just check every 15 minutes in BHH (Blackheart Hollow), you will get the rhythm of it. But yes seeing message I have been there to much, I get annoyed. BUt wait maybe 20 minutes and go back.

ty for telling me what is BHH... :)... m' here for many years but not even 1 day i saw anything in this shop and i angry myself if we get a new post and i follow the inviting.. :)
... is there a restocking time in BHH ?? or always closed??
BHH has many good items. But they can be difficult to catch. Always have some wizard tokens. Check 3-4 times an hour. If you get message you have visited to many times just wait 20-25 minutes to visit again.
