Munchie (1981-2011)
Always in our thoughts an <3
Yes, the grand kids would love to see me but they are not such babies any more. The youngest is almost 10 and the oldest is 24. I carry hand sanitizer in my car and use it often. I also use wipes when I go shopping to wipe the cart and my credit card too. And masks, of course you need to cover your nose. I work part time and it drives me crazy that people there do one of 3 things. Either don't wear their mask at all or only cover their mouth or wear it on their chin. SMH, I guess they are younger and don't worry about it but it is not only you it affect, it affect us all! To show you how careful I am, my hubby got the virus from someone at his work. He ended up in the hospital with it as well. That was the hardest because you can't visit. Anyway, We were quarantined for 6 weeks while he recovered and during that whole time, I never got it. We basically lived in different parts of the house. He lived at one end with a bedroom, bathroom and computer room. I lived at the other end in a bedroom with a bathroom. I did the cooking and cleaning (a lot of cleaning and sanitizing) and he wasn't allowed in the Kitchen. I put anything he wanted to eat and drink, separate from the meals I cooked, in the frig in the garage so he didn't have to use the main frig. It wasn't a fun time, got rather boring living in a bedroom but we both made it though. Don't want to go through that again but with winter coming on and flu season coming too, who's to say what might happen next.
Bought tickets for jenboop20 too :)
Wonderful HA! Gosh the fact that you got your husband to follow those guides was a miracle. Mine has to be constantly reminded, because basics rules apply to others not him. Yes, I am raising my 4th child adult. So this pandemic has been a game changer, and his not always a happy camper. One of my sons and I do errands, just easier that way or else I am a nervous wreck.
I had surgery on July 2, I went in alone and was alone the whole time. Surgery is already scary, but to face it alone was worse. I know it was a necessity, and dealt with it. Lucky I had phone by my bed, and could call my family.
I got my flu shot already! Thankfully
we are still working on jenboop20 helping get the potion lottery achievement.
Thank you :) Your HA's have been really great too. I love the black and white combo. I wear that a lot.
My hubby has a rare disease that compromises him in a lot of ways and knows how compromised I am so we are real careful with each other's health.
I'm sorry you had to go through your surgery all alone. That must have been hard. I understand why they do it but I also think having family members there for you is good for healing and state of mind of the patient.
: I noticed that Jenboop didn't win last night, so I'll buy more tickets again today.
so impressed that you managed not to get infected with someone ill in your home! I'm at very high risk and have been staying home for the most part. My guy goes out for shopping. I worry about him catching it because I need his help day to day because of my disability - I wouldn't be able to stay distant from him if he catches it. Fortunately our numbers are low and the general risk of getting it are very small.

Have been reading forward from the last time I posted here. So much has happened. I came here to add my very sad passing of my husband into the resurrection sleep 2 weeks ago. The procedure went fine but something overnight happened to him in a ward. He was found 7 am nonresponsive. He did gain consciousness in Intensive Care and spoke my pet name he had for me when I visited him around 11 AM. However seizures started a couple of days later when I was there visiting him. He passed away 8th September peacefully. Unknown cause of death means coroners office. I'm at peace when I can remember he is in a resurrection sleep and I will be with him again living on a beautiful new earth.
I am so sorry for your loss, my heart goes out to you.
Yes, home testing would be great in some ways but I can also see problems with it too. Even the testing they do now isn't always accurate. After 2 positive tests Hubby tested negative but 2 days later ended up in the hospital and had another positive test, proving the negative test wasn't accurate. I'm sorry you had to go through surgery alone too. I wish you a speedy recovery.
Thank you! Good to hear that the numbers are low in your area and the risk small. It's hard to have our guys go out to work or shopping because we worry so about them but hopefully with care and caution you and your guy will stay safe.
Even when you know you will see him again, such a loss can be very hard. My thoughts are with you and your family.
