: That's good advice. Thank you.
: What is terrifying for the people who live in Shaver Lake, is that the fire is 0% contained. Historical landmarks were seen on TV burning to the ground and nobody can get into the town to access the damage, if there is any, or if it's a total loss.
The bad news is that this fire is only four days old and it is now over 140,000 acres. A new complication is that Mono Winds (akin to the dreaded Santa Ana winds) threaten to make the fire worse tonight with winds over 50 MPH. Many humans who live up there have horses, cattle, livestock, and other animals that also need to be evacuated. Fortunately, Fresno State University has a huge farm program and lots of land to house livestock. There are many organizations who are putting forth a lot of effort to rescue and house all the animals.
Every evacuation "Watch" that has turned into an "Evacuate Now" order in the last three days. More evacuation orders have been given this evening.
It's snowing in Colorado which is turning into rain and flooding ...we are having horrific fires on the upper west coast and down in Arizona ....the hurricane coming up through Louisiana drowning the whole state again .... I seen today there is a hurricane coming in on the east coast I think we're getting ready to have another giant flood like back when Noah built an ark ...

Just checking in to say hi :)

Hi Bears! so good to see you posting more and getting organized with items from missed events. came through with lists and items like the Fabulous One she is....I would not have even known how to find the list...love the bears.
please keep us posted on your situation there. We camped at Mammoth last weekend and the last day was so smoky...no evacuation where we were but we left a little early. Campers in another Mammoth campground had to be airlifted out. It was surreal the way the sky was...
Never heard of those winds, but yeah, not what is needed. I'll keep checking here to see how things are. Hoping for a turn for the better. Happy to hear about those organizations that are able to help animals - they must be so scared.

: HA! My pool is filled with soot and some burned leaves that may have been carried aloft from MILES away! : Mammoth Pool is a human-made reservoir on the San Joaquin River near Big Creek. One moment families were enjoying their campout, boating, fishing, and within moments, all access out of the area was cut off by fire and they were surrounded. Very dramatic rescue indeed. I read a lot of people were critical of the campers, "how come they didn't leave when they were warned?" and the like. There was no warning. That demonstrates the speed of this fire, in the last four days it has doubled in size every 24 hours.
: Sometimes, humans get it right as far as animals are concerned. There is a website that mistaking donations to feed all the animals, I just cannot remember what organization is right now.
The Mono Winds are especially famous near Yosemite during the winter and can reach 100 mph, blowing down trees and causing havoc. They are Easterly winds that blow downhill, much like the Diablo winds or the Santa Anna winds. Nature's Madness, they say.
Weldon and I are safe, Healer's Vale is emptied and we are sheltering with friends.
You've earned the Shinwa Helper achievement! You've earned the Librarian achievement!

Hiya !! Do you like to battle? I have three battle pets, Madison is my champion. She's cute, but she's deadly.
I am often asked why my HA is frequently dressed in a grass skirt holding a spear if I'm supposed to be the Master Healer and Queen of my clan and tribe. Is that something that Masters do?
The answer goes back to my childhood....

You still run around Healers Hall half naked sometimes. How mature is that, Master Healer ( giggle)
That only happened once Weldon and it wasn’t my fault! Nobody likes a giggling husband!
California Fire Update: Over 3 million acres have burned so far. That's nearly 4700 SQUARE MILES. Imagine a square 68 miles on a side. That's unbelievable. Consider donating to the Red Cross to help relief efforts.
Welly and I are safe, but we have many friends who are having to evacuate. And it's not just California, there are fires everywhere, and hurricanes and COVID is STILL A THING. Love and prayers go a long way to show emotional support too! Keep Safe everybody!

Hi Bears HUGS sorry I went off in RL, I went to Houston to visit son, daughter in law and 2 grand wieners (two miniature dachshunds). We also took our dog whose low rider pitbull and bassett mix. They chased and played the whole time. We stayed in, and didnt go anywhere. But who cares, we enjoyed our visit. I baked banana bread with walnuts in it. My son and his wife work a lot, so this was a treat for them. I made 2 huge loaves for them, to enjoy.
I would need a big area to take my photo albums, boxes full of pictures, family photos through the house, my sons mementos growing up. Maybe living in a desert area is smart less to burn. Although I love the mountains.
