When thinking purple how to know which tones are indigo and which ones are violet?

indigo is the blue-purple (like the plant dye) Violet is the red-purple (like the flower)

Why not just say purple? I think it’s scientific actually something about visible light wavelength but please please don’t quote me on that one. Either way, we got two purple days lovely people! Good luck I’m loving what I see~

I dunno, I feel like it's just purple, but I really like this HA, so this is what I'm going with.

Cheers for Indigo, and the difficulty getting the colour right! It's so easy to veer up the spectrum just an eensy bit and end up with violet. But it's also too easy to veer down into blue.

Don't be too hard yourself, I was totally thinking the same of my own, but with blue. It really depends on which "violet" Google search result you're looking at. Indigo is tricky. The dye is dark blue (very much like ultramarine), but the generally accepted color is dark-purple/bluish but may also be presented as bordering on violet.
