Glad to see old challengers coming back to the cash shop. I need to get my hands on some of the old food challengers since I didn't get most of them when they were here.

Buying CSC books should probably be some of the last books that you buy, and only if you plan on going for 100% books read or at least a HST run.

If you just want intel, buy intel boosters. If your capped, even buying tomes and leaching stats is going to be cheaper than paying 2mil+ on a unique book. If you're not capped, buying Tomes is just going to be outright better.

Books over 2mil+ are collection items that happen to boost intel, they are not good intel boosters. Paying 20mil+ for a book is for crazy collectors.

I'm thinking more about getting more AP...isn't something like every 16th book read? Or is it every 16th intelligence point? I always get confused

: It's both. The final intel point must be a book so that you can validate all non-book intel points your pet has gained, so technically you can boost your pet with 15 intel points (non-book boosting) and read a book to validate the 1 AP that's supposed to come with those 16 intel points. Or you can boost your pet with as many intel points as you want and read a book by the end to redeem all APs that can be purchased/ gained with those non-book intel points up to that point. So yes, if your sole aim is to get AP, buying tomes and then wait to buy event books or books from the quest shop would be a much more economical way to gain more intel.

Okay then. Thanks for that...so Haneul could get 32 intel points from tomes/boosters and then when he reads a book, he'd get 2 AP?

: Yes! It'll still say on the confirmation page after you read the book that your pet has gained 1 AP, but actually it will gain all APs eligible up to that point.

At least one of these challengers also does drop a book (Uilliff, although you maybe already have that book).

10 wins with Tier 3. Yeah I beat all the normal, secret and cash shop challengers for easy and medium. That popped him into Tier 3. Now I'm done with the this event.

It used to be that you had to read a book on a multiple of 16 and it would grant any missed intel from boosters, but now whenever you read a book it will update your AP to be your intel/16.

But there is no reason to spend more than 1.2mil on a book for intel purposes. And books come out often enough that you usually don't need to buy an expensive one to reset it in between either.

Expensive books are for HST chasing only.
