Alright, I really love the "fighting someone who is mind-controlled to save them" trope, so I hope this is different NPCs again, and that they're fine after. Maybe the Cash Shop challenger posts will be done by them after they're back to normal. But anyway, it seems exciting, and there are certain characters who I hope it will happen to, I know it seems weird but like I said, I really like that trope.

There, we got the challenger, can everyone stop panicking now? I'm not sure why people were suddenly convinced we weren't going to get any this year.
Possession has potential as a theme, it'll be interesting to see where they go with it. Presumably for it to be a complete story we either fight the things possessing them as the Cash Shop challengers, or the challenger in December will be the single thing responsible for all of them.
Anyway Vanya's been smashed by my top two. He drops an amulet at 25 but I think that's the only notable loot.

: I understand it can be repetitive and boring! I skip all the Easy challengers myself but this one is quick to finish on mobile, plus I've got nothing else to do while waiting for the food to finish cooking so ^^

Here's my predictions if it is different NPCs who get possessed, and if they're going by different lands again. This is based on who hasn't already been a challenger (but I could be wrong about that), and also how up to date their art is.

Centropolis: I don't know, Alexander, maybe? Or it could be one of the shop NPCs whose location isn't specified, but their art is a bit old. I think it was stated that Clementine's shop is in Centropolis, so it could be her. Might be in December, but it could be any other month.
Darkside: I really doubt it would be Maleria, so that leaves Ian. Not sure what they would do about his pet being in his art, though, unless they remove her, or have her possessed as well. Either February or October, but it could be a different month since we have Arctic Frost in January rather than December.
Delphi: The Bug Catching NPC, but that would mean she'd only be unlockable during the times that Bug Catching is on. Or it could be Bibi and Lilah, or Ricardo (but would they really have a possessed child? Then again, they did kill off a child). Most likely in summer, but could be October if the Carnival is still spooky.
Atebus: Most likely one of the NPCs from Yun Enterprises. Or it could be one of the Coda Caves NPCs as well. Or it could be Cinthia, to make her even more creepy than usual. I'll be surprised if this isn't in March or April.
Omen Islands: It depends if they treat Port Plunder as a separate place again like they did in 2019. If so, it would either be Babette or Bloodhungry. As for the Islanders, I'm not sure, maybe the fishing NPC? I would say during summer, but last year's Omen Islands challengers were in November.
Riverside: Major Drills, Pete, or Charity. Most likely Drills, but I remember there was someone who wanted Charity to be available as a challenger. Not sure when in the year.
Sacred Lands: I doubt it would be Shinwa, the Wizard, or the Oracle, I guess it could be Laure or Sephora? Or Shanti?
Shadowglen: One of the zombies, but I'm not sure which one. Or it could even be Jaxon, but didn't he already get sort-of possessed during the 2014 plot? Most likely in October, but it could be February.
Shengui Guo: Ujin, Dara, or Jogoh, but my main guess is Ujin for some reason. Not sure when.
Veta: I think it will most likely be Wesley, because his art is the most new out of the other Veta NPCs (Esther and Emma are the only others I know are from there, and while Esther's art looks fine, I think Emma could do with a revamp). I doubt it could be Mori or Nori because of their situation. Could be any time of the year.
