I have a bad feeling that it might close during Masq since you have to load extra pages to accept dances. Shoutbox also closes when over 1000 users are online.

It seems that way, which is a shame cause I really like talking to people during events. They could at least warn us if this is going to be a regular thing, and have something to encourage us to use the forums more, like making points less rare or something and having some new Forum Shop items to spend them on (I'd rather not bring up the gift box disaster from last year).

Why was the gift box thing bad?

People kept on spamming the forums to get them, and without any staff or NPC threads like they had the previous times they did gift boxes, it got boring, which was probably waht lead to the spamming in the first place. I wouldn't be surprised if the staff didn't ever do it agian and just settled with the Free Shop. But getting forum points more often would be nice, I've only gotten a few from all the posts I've done while the Shoutbox has been down.

To be fair, this is the most I've gotten of forum points since ever (3 points). Most of my posts have been on this thread. That said, hope SB doesn't close for every event from now on :(

Yeah, they could do with making them less rare. I get that they don't want to encourage spam (like the gift boxes did), but they could still make them easier to get, especially during events and especially when the Shoutbox is closed, in fact, getting more of them would be a good way to compensate for that.

Also, it might happen for the next few events. At least now I know that they are working on it, but it might take a while. I don't think it's likely to happen during Neugarten or Keel Hauliday because they don't involve much, but it probably will happen during the more popular events that have more things to do.
