Okay, I'm a little confused and we are getting conflicting reports of what pays out or not.
Could you please specify which high scores table you are on when reporting what is paying out and what is not? I think this would help clear up the confusion, since a single game may have multiple high scores tables.
It seems like maybe this is a problem with the old high score tables? Is everyone getting payouts correctly for the new high score tables?

Hey everyone; I have an update on high score tables :) This is all still a work-in-progress but I wanted to keep everyone in the loop.
Here are the major changes/things of note that you will notice starting tonight:

We're well aware, and definitely not against giving payouts! The difficulty is in figuring out how exactly these payouts should work. I don't think we have given any daily rewards for Pets before, and we're unsure how to handle the Other category yet - it's gonna depend on what else ends up in that category.
For Collections, our planned changes are actually intended to address exactly the kind of thing you bring up :) I just can't go into more detail right now (as it's still a work in progress, and some of the finer details are still being worked out). But it's going to be a huge improvement from the current "reward 10 random people with complete collections" thing. I can reveal that we're planning to reward more than just 10 people per collection - because even getting close to a complete collection takes a lot of dedication and we wanna recognize that. <3

All of the old tables will be moved over.

Debugging is finished, and the fix has been deployed <3
Payouts should have gone out as well in the last few minutes. (This was from me running it manually.) We will see in about 23.5 hours from now if it works automatically after this fix :)

The frozen users getting added was an oversight when I first started moving the old tables over, and these should start to disappear as I move the rest over. I went ahead and manually fixed the Gravedigger one you mentioned though since you pointed it out!
I will be double-checking to make sure the high score data gets changed correctly when accounts are frozen and unfrozen.

Sorry for the delay on this - been a hectic few months! Do you know if the same issue happened in May/June/July? If so, your hunch is probably correct. I will look into this.

Apologies that this information is so late, I've been checking with Keith and talking to Amber about changing mentions of it but figured I'd explain now.
The games are on an older system that is, unfortunately, impractically hard to fix. There's a banner across the high scores page, in fact, that mentions they're on the old system and we want to migrate them over to a new set-up. Keith is in the process of working on new system for Subeta in general, if you check his Twitter account you can see his observations on Subeta's database as he goes through years of coding and old database tables. One of the challenges there is figuring out what's in use, what's being called, and how to even fix it.
The process for rewarding sP for high scores is likely one of those bugged tables, and tracking down exactly which one it is along with trying to fix it when the entire system needs a revamp to even get some games working again is unfortunately just not time-effective compared to looking at overall database improvement and putting together something new. This is not going to be fixed under the old game system, and we don't have an ETA on a new one.
I'm checking with Amber on changing where we mention payouts, although she has been less active with the heatwave in the Pacific Northwest so you may still see the mentions until conditions are better. We're not going to pull any games, and playing them in general as well as high scores placement for things like achievements or bragging rights should be stable.
We know there's a lot to fix and we want to build a strong underlying structure for that rather than deploying short-term patches. I know this isn't a fun answer, but it is the most practical one in terms of long-term solutions for Subeta. We look forward to being able to announce those successes and keep you up-to-date on the good stuff coming up when we have those details!

This should not affect achievements, as far as we can tell, we haven't had any reports of people not getting the credit for them! If it does end up happening, though, please file a ticket; setting the field and/or awarding the item is very easy as a once-off needed thing. It's just unfortunately not practical for giving sP per day per scores for every game.

The hope in getting the database ship-shape and figuring out some new tech is to be able to work with old features as well as bring in new stuff. No promises unfortunately on what it'll ultimately look like and no ETA, but it's better to focus on getting there rather than hunting down a table and process from many years ago that may not even be fixable.
I'm going to close this thread now and move it to Dismissed. We appreciate people understanding where we're coming from on this. Thank you so much for playing, both the games room and Subeta in general!
